Yes, of course. It is completely unfair to retry someone until you get the jury that will deliver the result that you want.

I always come down in the side of reasonable doubt. If there is reasonable doubt, you acquit and that's the end of it.

professor I have found it interesting in the USA you can be found not guilty in a court of law for a criminal case and still brought to court for a civil action or if the event includes something that is a federal crime - you can be tried in federal and state court and even included in civil fines and penalties -

for example I understand when they could not get Al Capone on criminal charges they got him on Income tax evasion.
