Well, you`ll have to consult the Bible for the answer to that one - somewhere in the first book of Corinthians, Chapter 13.
But the OPPOSITE of love is easier.....
Everyone seems to think it`s "hate" - but that is not true.
The opposite of love is "indifference".
When one feels absolutely nothing for the other person.
Love is an emotion, expressed.
Indifference is "no emotion" so it is not even expressed - it is totally ignoring the other person, with no feelings.

Yes Ray! Love equals to chemistry.
As seen from the above diagram - chemistry (love) is a complex thing, not one or two hormones/chemicals and their levels/production/etc...
So IMHO every individual on this planet can experience love in a different his/her own unique way.
Oh, Napoleone Bonaparte loved only his Josephine, a woman 7 years elder than him, with a child from her former husband - the French Foreign minster. Here are this great man's words of his beloved J.: I prefer to love than being loved.

harvey28: love can be defined by intense feelings of joy, happiness,and satisfaction for something or someone. Once you find it..NEVER LET GO OF IT....because it is so rare nowdays to have that.
I agree. Love is a rare bird like any lucky chance. And only a real simpleton can let it just go. But nowadays women are so pretentious. They think that via Internet they'll get what their GLAMOR magazines and girlish silly fantasies push in their heads.
