bad pole and bad feeling. If no one is found or the flight was diverted elsewhere, something must have happened so fast that the crew or anyone on board couldn't get an SOS out. Even communication gear has redundant systems on board. Pilots are trained to fly first then alert. I have a bad feeling this flight disintegrated. Probably terrorist act.
A few years ago there was an attempt to hijack several airplanes as a test run for a much larger terrorist attack. The hijackers never came forward because they planned the larger attack.
People are wondering now, if it was terrorists who brought down #370 why didn't they come forward. Experts are saying it might be for the same reason, that a larger hijacking is being planned and that this was a test run.
And that has Homeland Security, FBI and any other acronym you can think of on alert.
Whether a test run or not, since the plane turned around I have two thoughts:
The plane is equipped with technology that is out of this world. Perhaps the captain heard bells and whistles that there was a malfunction and he should turn around and go back to the airport but he didn't make it due to an explosion

Probable causes: -Failure in the fuselage, wings or turbines. -Bad weather (which was not). -Pilot’s disorientation. -Failure of the two engines. -A bomb. -kidnapping. -Pilot’s suicide. -Taken down by a some country’s air force
KUALA LUMPUR: The pilot of a Malaysia Airlines jet that went missing on Saturday enjoyed flying the Boeing 777 so much that he (good that it is not a girl or some chauvinist guys here might be just blaming women) spent his off days tinkering with a flight simulator of the plane that he had set up at home (???), current and former co-workers said.
Zaharie Ahmad Shah, 53, captain of the airliner carrying 239 people bound for Beijing from the Malaysian capital, had always wanted to become a pilot and joined the national carrier in 1981....
MrRick I don't see why you would post such a heartless poll.
I wonder how you would feel if someone chose to make light of a loss in your life.I hope you never have to experience and of never knowing what could've happened to someone close to you if a plane, bus, train etc ever were to come up missing.

I must admit I made light of his poll, though not the subject matter, of course.
Didn't think but now, on reflection, you are quite right....

The good thing CC is that there have not been found any pieces of the plane, luggage, etc.....I do hope it was kidnapped and the passenger and crew are alive.
