I know about my father and my brothers very well. My ex had a cold heart so I have no clue how he deal with that. I am willing to know from the men,, how do they deal with it?

When I am sad it is usually because of a loss. I sometimes write it down and if necessary I talk to a good friend about it. I know it' s a process I may have to go through of letting it go and moving forward. The key is to not get stuck in it and have it lead to self pity which is a trait I don' t need to have. Have the happiest of Easter' s Zeurich!

Ccincy: I've known some men who claimed that it wasn't right for a man to show any emotion because of the way they had been raised.
Yep, the old "big boys don't cry" statement was prevalent back in the day and not sure if parents still say that to their little boys. I don't think it's healthy to keep the tears and emotions bottled up like that.
I think most believe the silence. I know for sure men like to have a way to be in a trusting relationship and appreciate a person they can speak with. Love is love. When you love someone, communication is the key. Certain things, silence. Thus, who knows. I would want to know. If my love is hurt or silent. I respect that, eventually it would be an issue. So I blieeve speaking on it is the healthy way. Peace HH

jac379: So what would be the result if you had a partner who also withdrew?
How about if your partner preferred open communication of thoughts and feelings?
Now you are talking and adding circumstances !!!....lol That was not how the post was stated, if i had a partner it's a different situation, because communication is first n formost, in current status its all on me ...per-see

I never told my son not to show emotion.I can remember back to when he was very young and whenever he saw the Mighty Dog commercial he'd begin to cry and get upset cause he thought the dog was being hurt.
