There is a unknown object in a polar orbit around the earth, first photographed in 1960 when polar orbits was not possible yet and when it was impossible to put an object of that size into space. It is said to have a mass of about 15 tonnes.
NASA's explanations are not very convincing. First it was thought to be a Russian Satellite. Then it was a fragment of a derelict Satellite. Next it was one of their own. Then it was an unidentified piece of space junk. Then it was a thermal blanket lost from the Space Station. And the latest story is that it a a seat lost from the Space Station.

Catfoot: Hi 2girls, Then would that be the Batmobile? He does not look like batman... ok, ok, he must be Robin then.
Hi Cat. Apologies for the joking reply. It's not Robin either, but Robinski
I'd say at a rough guess it's just a bit of debris from something mankind sent up. There's enough trash floating around up there, it's inevitable that one day a bit of it would be caught on film.
Ccincy: Maybe it's Monica Lewinsky wearing her black dress.
....Maybe !...Well Undiscovered Country (star trek) did have a probe, that made contact with humpback whales, that were deemed ..*alien* ?... , maybe one that got lost from the herd

A good probability for that but...
Very little (if any) space junk in 1960 when it was first discovered and photographed later that same year. This was not even 3 full years after the Russians launched the first satellite into orbit.

They must have had a whale of a time weighing those whales at the whale weigh station.

It shadowed Sputnik, didn't it?
We may never truly know what it is, but if it's been up there for 50 years or more, then it's obviously not harming us. Something said it 'broadcast' radio waves from the 30's, so it's been there for a while.

Humpback whales, well they are a day late for humpday.
Maybe it's Hillary Clinton wearing Monica's black dress.

Indeed, sometimes you get too worked up on something, thats been bouncing around for eons....

Yest it did but in 1899 Nikola Tesla reported that he had picked up a signal unlike any anything before. He concluded that the regular signals must have come from an intelligent outside source. Today some people believe that he was listening to a message from the Black Knight.
Such Signals was picked up in 1953 by the Americans as well.
If I had to guess catfoot, granted this would be a guess. My logical thought would be maybe something from the early years of the space race with the Russians. Back in the day when we could not monitor everything that moves on the planet. It is no secret that the Russians were very successful at killing cosmonauts and getting it half right back then. It very well could e a piece of one of their failed missions. It's not like they were ones to advertise their failures to the world or even be honest when things did go wrong.

The problem is that this thing moved three times faster than anything else and was way to heavy and bulky to be placed in orbit by anybody. The polar orbit was the other mystery. Neither the Americans nor the Russians had mastered that art by 1960.

Sounds like CNN/Fox version of the Russian Space Program.
Meanwhile, when all came out in the wash, 4 Soviet and 13 US (+ 1 Israeli) have been killed during Spaceflight.
A further 8 US Astronaut died during training and a further 3 Soviet Cosmonauts.

I suppose that would make my guess incorrect. God only knows what it could really be. But in my mind people will tend to blow up the truth to convince others that it is something more than it is. Just as the governments will make up lies to convince people it isn't what it seems to be.

But then bear in mind that all this comes from the Internet. While it is unlikely that all those people are liars, it is possible.

Why do they change their story all the time.
