Stanley I remember my grandparents, Farmers [on a large scale] Equine but they had Chicken, etc., The chickens were fed properly and roamed around. [now called Free Range ] and we have to pay huge prices for the fact they dont live in cramped cages and sh-t on themselves, are fed corn to make them fat and taste like... taste dreadful. Ditto Rabbits, I agree but somebody who knows about shooting and kills cleanly. Pheasant shooting. I dont eat much meat myself... only Organic and Irish Farmers produce.
Buying Meat in Supermarkets labelled 'Irish' can just mean packed in Ireland and when you look closer you will see they are from Thailand or some other easter country. Ditto Seafood. Food just doesnt taste like it did when I was a kid. thinking of growing some small amounts of veggies in the Garden...

I agree Golden, there is no comparison between intensive farmed produce and organic or wild game, and the same can be said for organic fruit, veg and herbs. Growing your own is rewarding, and you would be surprised at how much you can grow and how much it could save you financially. Not only that, but you get to enjoy the produce of your labour, and you can do your bit for the environment, by reducing landfill and bin charges through composting and using the end product as growing material for your fruit and veg. I will have you all Eco warriors by the time I am finished, thumbs up
