Act like it doesn't bother me and then work the group. Slowly but surely pull the others over to your side until you're more powerful than the person who is causing you a problem.
I could call in the manager but then I'd have a reputation as a grass who can't deal with his own problems, which is cancer to a man's social status.

people like that have low self esteem and get off on making someone else look bad..not worth the effort on doing anything especially going to the boss because it is just drama to them. i would ignore them and be the better person in the long run.

If it`s a co-worker i would report them to your boss but if it`s happing outside of work then tell them you don`t like their attitude and if they still don`t stop then tell the cops!

I would let him or her have their fun for just a short time.. I would speak to them and ask them please to knock it off in a nice way... If it continues then I would go to the upper management and request that we sit with them and find a solution.. And if that does not work... GAME IS ON.... may the best woman or man win...

There are many forms of harassment. At my job, it is mandatory that we take a harassment class the firm offers by an outside attorney, who's an expert on the subject. I think your question relates to a form of harassment. You should check with your HR person. Much luck to you.

My experience with that is you ignore them and do not stoop their childish behavior. If you show everyone that it is water on a ducks back, the person eventually makes her/himself look like a complete moron studying to be an idiot. Showing it bothers you, it just fuels the fire for them and they continue relentlessly.

You may feel that the best way to deal with this is through the proper procedures with line management, etc. Sadly, policies and procedures are merely a tick-in-a-box and rareely actively enforced. In fact, often it works against you.
I would carry on regardless and treat it with the contempt it deserves by ignoring it. Such people will find the novelty wears off and move onto something else which will give them the 'kick' they need.
I am sure you can rise above resorting to similar (retaliating) behaviour and maintain the moral high ground.

In turn, opportunity always arises where the tables are turned.
Is it something malicious or in "fun" to break up the monotony?
That could be the difference. Either way, I will address things accordingly. Bantering back and forth here and there in play or straight forward with them directly if other.
If it requires a straight forward approach, keep it civil. If it can't be handled that way, there may be options of separate work areas...etc.
