Lewis Black, Blue-Collared Comedy Tour, Dane Cook, most of my favorite sources of laughter are American. Except that Whose Line is it Anyways show, I love the British version almost as much as the American - the only reason I like the U.S. version better is that I have bad hearing and it's hard to understand the England version when some of them have really thick accents.
I don't think it's who, I think it's what creates the best comedians. poverty and anger seem to be the driving forces behind many of the best. richard pryor, lenny bruce, bill hicks, peter sellars, john cleese, charlie chaplin and so on were all angry people who managed to channel that into creating great comedy
The show "Saturday Night Live". The funnest people have come from there. Eddie Murrphy, John Belushi,Dan Ackroid,Chevy Chase,Bill Murry,Adam Sandler,Gilda Radner just to name a few. I always laugh my butt off. Always funny

Yeah... it probably would have been better to ask "Which area do your favorite comedians come from?" now that I think about it.
shipoker58: here I go!! I don't like or understand british humor (except Roseofsharon). I would have to say American Comedy. Does anybody else really count??

Thank you !!! I've always thought of Lee Evans as Norman Wisdom copy
....and I know I'm gonna p*ss Oslo off with this but I've always thought Eddie Izzard (particularly at the beginning of his career) reminds me of Leonard Rossiter . Check out the Rigsby stance!!!

I think there are those who think I have a pretty good senseof humor! I just don't like Mr Bean!! Now I saw Powan Atkinson in a movie. Something with Maggie Smith and Patrick Swayze. I thought he was great.
