digby2000: The British constitution protects the rights of all it's citizens to practice any religion they choose.
Except that there does not exist a Brittish constitution.... cheering

Don't import your religion, culture, sharia law and inter breeding with 1st or 2nd cousin. If your from Afghanistan and Iraq, Syria, Somalia why not go to UAE, Bahrain, Qatar Iran. That's where all your Muslim brothers are. They don't want you, so the UK takes all you scum , so you can start up grooming gangs for little white girls.

The whole royal family that conquered the British Isles, is all decended from Mohammed. Muslims in Britan have a longer history of being Muslims, than Brits.

The answer is quite simply NO. Brits are defined by getting drunk and eating bacon sandwiches the next morning, hope that clears everything uphandshake

You need to define if you mean ethnically British or civilly British, for a start.

In either event, the answer is: yes. Someone who is civilly British (i.e. a British passport holder) may well be a Muslim. Many are.

And someone who is ethnically British can convert to Islam. George Galloway comes to mind.

However, we need to keep in mind that the vast majority of Muslims in the UK are NOT ethnically British.

This thread has made me remember an old timer here in New Zealand who I met in a work context (he was one of our customers).

I used to speak to him on the telephone. He sounded ancient, and had a Muslim name and a strong Welsh accent. One day I met him in person, and was shocked to find he was as White as snow.

Turns out he was orphaned during WW2 as a child, and was taken in by a charitable Muslim family. They gave him a Muslim name and raised him as a Muslim. When I met him, he was over 80, and told me he was not religious, but had seen no need to abandon his Muslim name and revert to his British one.
