Brazil has long been overrated as a team pinning their hopes on one or two outstanding players to prop up the rest of the team, and this is what happens when your major players get taken out and you havent excercised the option to train anyone else to lead the team. Total demolition.
Now dont get me wrong, but I love the skills and the flair that Brazilian footballers have but only wish that some of those skills extended to fundamentals like, Playing as a team and focussing on the game at hand, Its a true shame.
Germany on the other hand were the sharks... actually better than that, they were Great White sharks. They were decisive, cohesive and the bench allowed the game to develop and flow without having to mess about with the defensive players. They were technical and methodical and once they had locked onto to that hapless seal that was Brazil, dinner was well and truly served.
But all in all, it has been an excellent world cup with lots of fun and excitement and will be remembered for some great moments and some rather infamous moments.
I refer of course to the extremely hungry Uruguyan who loves to eat Italian and the banquet dished up by the Brazilians for Germany, but if your team didnt make it this time around you can take heart in the fact that in 4 years time it happens all over again.
DjWabbet: Brazil were beaten by a better team. No, I don't think so. Brazil as Germany, Holland or Argentina are top football teams. Differences among them are minimal. A team can prevail over another of course; but what happened last Wednesday was something beyond of strictly football issue. That had to do rather with the tremendous psychological pressure. Faced with such pressure, and even worse, after the 0-1 they lost completely the poise and panicked. There is the only possible explanation.
Congratulations to those who hit the poll and thank you very much to all for participating. Beyond the result I'm glad with the Argentinean team perfomance. they leave the tournament without defeat in normal time, achieving the second place and in my opinion it's a great position too. Good bye we'll see again in Russia.
