I just recently started vaping instead of smoking, however I do still have a cigarette a few times a day. My whole goal is stop all together, I'm just wondering if anyone has used this method to stop and was it a hard process. Also as crazy as it sounds, vaping has been prohibited in a lot of public places even though no second hand smoke is involved...so what's your thoughts on this also wave

I started using e-cigs in April last year. Given that there's no second hand smoke, I can't see why it's prohibited in a lot of public places. conversing wave

wave so are you still using them? well I'm not sure about Canada but the craze here is to have a huge vapor cloud, meaning it's very thick...personally I think it's ridiculous to want to vape a cloud that big and thick, I think they are ruining it for people that are using it as a means to quit or just be more healthy

Yep, still using it and no big clouds of vapor...no need for it. I haven't had any issues using it in public though. It's funny but when people see the vapor cloud, they immediately associate it with regular tobacco smoke and it's not.

Kinda crazy considering people chew flavored gum and nobody gets offended when they catch a whiff of it. laugh

I voted yes because I'm trying to quit the nicotine that I get from cigarettes.
I've been nicotine and smoke free for 6 months.
I once quit for 3 years so I've a ways to go for a new personal best.
I avoid smokers. I don't know what would happen if I walked into a croud of vapers and their vape.
Good luck in your quitting. cheers

cheers congrats for you! Well I pretty much think I was born with a cigarette in my mouth...I've been smoking since I was 10, so it's been a part of my whole life...but my ultimate goal is to quit for good...vape is just a stepping stone for me right now

I've been vaping for 2 years after quitting and i feel great. I don't smell like an ashtray. I certainly don't see it as smoking. There is nothing in the vapour to cause harm in my general opinion. My only gripe with them is they sell stupid flavours like coke and cheesecake. Maybe if they stuck to tobacco and menthol the negative press would go away. Stick at it and you'll feel much healthier. Good luck :)

You're still putting something into the atmosphere which other people might inhale and given none of it is regulated, passive vapers will be inhaling something not of their choice if you're in an enclosed space with them.

I'm reasonably careful about where I vape, but having said that, other people aren't careful about me having to inhale their car fumes.

I've been smoke free since the beginning of the year, I much prefer it, but I'm struggling to stop the vaping. I do wonder about the harmful effects of it, even when I'm inhaling a non-nicotine formula.

Smoking, is smoking... no matter if weed, tobacco, crack, mari-ja-wanna, dirt, grass from your backyard, or chemicals in an electric device... it's all "still smoking". What part of "smoking" is so hard to understand. Smoke them blues away.... Have a good day everybody...

wave I have a couple of questions I hope you don't mind...so after two years can you tell a difference other than the fact you don't smell like an ashtray? do you still a weird taste in your mouth while vaping? But yes like you I'll stick to the tobacco flavor...congrats on 2 yrs smoke free!!

very true, not enough studies have been done on it to truly understand the whole impact. But also people seem to not realize that even wearing perfume or cologne can be very upsetting to some. I've had to be in a close place with someone that put the whole bottle on and when it's that strong, I promise I feel I can't breathe, so there's many things other than smoke or fumes that can cause someone to be uncomfortable

Condition your mind ""I stopped smoking"".Is not easy but can be done. After 3 packs of ciggies the previous day,"I stopped smoking" from the next.

boy that makes you a very exceptional man hug I've heard of some being able to do that, but for me I haven't been so successful with it...so using vape is helping me get off cigarettes but I hope I'm not exchanging one for the other, because I really do want to quit...I just don't have that strong of will power

SoonerGal: so does her vapor bother you? can you smell it? Oh I so agree with you on that

Well, this was about 2 years ago but as I remember I could barely smell anything and normally I can smell a smoker from their clothes and hair from 5 feet away.

I know, when I quit smoking in the house, I walked in the other day and the smell was horrible!!! So I have washed all clothes, curtains and shampooed carpet...I still get a whiff every now and then but can't find it...so I think it's my furniture, but it's leather and I wouldn't even begin to know how to clean that

I have been using an e -shisha pen for about three weeks

I feel a lot better.

I do use those juices with nicotine in it but to me, its lesser of the two evils when compared to cigarettes

I mix the nicotine e-juice with zero e-juice to slowly ween my self of nicotine

You can get various strengths of nicotine e-juices...but I still mix (to dilute even more) the lowest dose buy-able.

I have a 1100mah battery which really helps, as it lasts for two days...I got two e-shisha pens which has helped as well...so I always have one charged up to use....but just don't have cigarettes around the house and stay away from those who smoke them

Many of my friends has switched to e-shisha pens, so it helps having others that is doing the same.

Its amazing tobacco was ever allowed to be sold...its meant to be as addictive as heroin!

I know and I believe that it is that addictive! good luck on your smokeless journey wave

I started vaping in late january and havent smoked since. If you stop smoking and just use the Vape you'll find yourself going off it naturally. I used it quite a lot at the beginning but use it about 3 or 4 times a day now. My senses, smells and taste buds are all back on form, Im breathing better and far fitter which, for me, spells out the difference that this is NOT smoking. We are simply breathing in cold steam and 10% of the nicotine we used to. This is no where as harmful for us and gives off 0 fumes to others. This is definately not smoking in the traditional sense.
