Harryonline: I do hope we get back to the good old days when presidents was at least seen to be of a high caliber
However...
***You don't need to be the president to change your country***...is my general thought
completely agree haryyonline, so many now look to the gov't to solve their problems rather than looking to solve their own problems with the help of the gov't IF needed. The advantage, the essence of a democracy is for change to come from the local level and on up NOT the other way around. Power To The People, person :)

Oh and harryonline, you said something that I believe mirrors a wrong perception that foreigners have about the US. What this last election tells the gov't is that most of us do not want a lot of change or extreme measures. We want our country's traditions & laws to be respected, there is no agreement here that any major change to our country is needed....as evidenced in the election results. most Americans are proud of America.
The vote represents DISSATISFACTION with much of the recent change or planned change. We are not happy with Obama's promise to "change America." This country has been markedly successful by implementing change slowly and only if needed, built on compromise.
Well I know one mid aged woman who is very 720 friendly (that means she will (and has been rumored to) do just about anything a male can imagine in return for a few tokes on a marijuana joint) who on her Facebook page announced today that she is now going to move away from North Carolina and come to Washington, DC because marijuana turned legal there this morning. So for her, thus far, the election was a miraculous thing.
For many of those contenders who Hillary Clinton endorsed in person, yesterday was a terrible day as her presence at their rallies was for many, a kiss of death, and they lost big time.
For Gun Owners, Happy Days are here again, and soon we will see a repeal of the 1968 Dodd Bill and a return to days of optional concealed carry without permits or registration throughout the land, a national law of Defense of Castle and no need to Retreat, and of course a return of days of surplus military weapons and grenades available by mail or quick internet purchase without those Communist questions designed to find out who we are.
For supporters of free medical care (many of whom have already announced today they are moving to Washington to commit suicide) Obama Care is dead and they are unhappy.
Many Dumocrats are also unhappy, not just because of the loss of their leaders and the promised free healthcare (and free contraception) but also because they know the Ebola II crisis (planned for this February) will result in the rendition of many of them to the new quarantine camps at Guantanamo Bay. It has been speculated today that the minimum isolation time of those possible infected or at least exposed to Ebola II should be 40 years, although some feel 75 years is safer. Likewise because even their thoughts may be poisonous the quarantine should be without cell phones or Internet access.
Some Republicans are quite pleased and pointed out on Fox Radio this morning that while the Constitution forbids President Bush having run more than two consecutive terms, the key word is consecutive, so now that President Obama has held office, President Bush can run again in the next election. Perhaps with former Governor S. Palin as his running mate?

GOP senators send warning to Harry Reid after resounding referendum November 5, 2014 | 202-228-7561
WASHINGTON, DC - Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, today sent a letter to Sen. Harry Reid, D-NV, the outgoing Senate Majority Leader, signed by Sens. Mike Crapo, R-ID; Mike Lee, R-UT; Pat Roberts, R-KS; Jeff Sessions, R-AL; and David Vitter, R-LA expressing opposition to President Obama's announced intention to take unilateral executive action by the end of this year to lawlessly grant amnesty to immigrants who have entered the country illegally.
"The Supreme Court has recognized that ‘over no conceivable subject is the power of Congress more complete' than its power over immigration," the letter said. "Therefore, President Obama will be exercising powers properly belonging to Congress if he makes good on his threat. This will create a constitutional crisis that demands action by Congress to restore the separation of powers."
The letter continued: "As majority leader of the Senate, you have the responsibility of not only representing the citizens of your State, but also of protecting the Constitution through vigilant exercise of the checks and balances provided under the Constitution. Therefore, we write to offer our full assistance in ensuring expeditious Senate debate and passage for a measure that preserves the power of Congress by blocking any action the President may take to violate the Constitution and unilaterally grant amnesty; however, should you decline to defend the Senate and the Constitution from executive overreach, the undersigned Senators will use all procedural means necessary to return the Senate's focus during the lame duck session to resolving the constitutional crisis created by President Obama's lawless amnesty."

MrRick77: Did the U.S Elections go good or bad for you ?
The elections yesterday went just the way president Obama wanted them to go. He can now negotiate with Congress to not implement change in Immigration by executive order, IF Congress will appropriate adequate funding to finance placing his likeness on Mt Rushmore before his second term is over
