I am not sure that Chancellor Merkel was the culprit. It was her that shouted first about taking so many but the 'brain' behind this was Jean-Claude Juncker who is the President of the EU.

Many seem to blame their governments for this but 'we' vote for who we want, if we do not vote then it is one vote against, if something like this happens then those that voted can only vote against them next time. Would it not be better if all people got together and spoke as one voice?, millions are against these 'invaders'(not refugees) but all shout loud in posts on the internet but do no more.

The fairest thing would be to put each country to a national vote, but also remember that you gave your vote to that party and they are in power so you have given them carte blanche and therefore can do little to change things in that respect.

When I flee, I will not flee to Iceland, as I saw on a docu that superrich old Chinese and Arabian sultans are buying large pieces of land in Iceland as a investment for their people in the future!! It all has to to with geothermal energy and raw materials. Smart guys those folks!
In Greenland there is the same phenomena, rich Americans are prospecting the country and the local government has no problem to sell their soul and culture and... the ecosystem for....money. " we have lived to long in poverty and had to strugle for life, they say" But who did order them to stay there and settle down? No one! It is just a fake reason to justify their actions! On short term they are rigth but on a longer time they are wrong. Then it will be already to late. Also this is a human feature! Amen.

There is no place for us to flee to, they are everywhere. The only thing to do is to learn their precious Kuran verses, men let their beards grow, dress like some peasants and women buy a black sheet and make sure you become invisible. doh

Politically there are MORE than enough parties in Germany, Hungary, France, Italy, Greece, Norway etc. to organize such actions.
Dont resign, be a coward and a grey mouse! You will just leave a horrible future for your children and grand children!

As I understand Sweden and Germany triggered the problem by sending own people to the arabic regions promising the native a well payed job. Intensified by the war on al its cruelty, the migration became out of control. Not a nice controlled migration in order to strengthen the economy and to maintain the social system, no,no, a real horror for Europe. A continent that collapsed as a house of cards.

Last news I read was about the reception of refugees in Sweden. They should be transported after a first selection (workers-non workers)to special camps constructed in the forests of Sweden. Far away from civilisation, in the middle of nowhere. Hoping that he hard winters in Sweden would made them change their mind. True or not?? What I know about Germany is that it got the proposed quota and now it will charge the rest of Europe with the unwanted surplus. A typical clean German solution. And even worse is that the other countries will do it!! Except GB, it feels time has come to defend its interests.
An exit of the EU. It are the economics that dictate the whole crisis!!

A reaction of strong and extreme parties all over Europe will not change anything to the problem I believe. Rather it will worsen the problem. It will trigger more violence and intolerance.I believe this is just a top of the iceberg that will dominate the whole 21st century.
Crazy world.

What happened to the Viking genes in today's male population in Scandinavia? Seems like they went in the completely opposite direction in Swedes as they are the champions of welcome refugees policy.
The Danes are doing something, at least their ruling party is, what about Norwegians? I have heard Hemsedal is full of "refugees"? Hege Storhaug didn't even make to be nominated for the name of the year after having many more votes than the second candidate. What happened?

Migrants dump rubbish in the streets in protest over the fact the free Italian villa they have been given does not have a CLEANER and wi-fi

Migrants have dumped rubbish in the streets in protest at not getting a cleaner or wi-fi at the free villa they have been given for shelter.

The 24 refugees are up in arms after demanding someone clean up after them in the Italian duplex where they have been housed since arriving from sub-Saharan Africa last summer.

They are also angry at not being provided free internet, which has prevented them from contacting relatives back home.

The demonstrations, which first took place last week, also blocked main roads in the town of Ceranova, near Milan, sparking heated rows with members of the local community.

The town's mayor, Alessandro Grieco, was forced to intervene personally with the help of three police officers to calm the situation, it was reported by The Local, which cited La Repubblica.

Mr Grieco has expelled the 24-year-old leader of the protests from the villa.

He said: 'The migrants have obviously flagged up a few issues for them but this is not the way to draw attention to them.

'We absolutely won't tolerate protests like this.'

This is beyond comprehension and if it is true then it is the end of free speech in Europe:

!Plant-die-EU-Internierungslager-f%C3%BCr-Asylkritiker-/cjds/567bd85f0cf2ee60dd748914

Some exerpts from the article above:

The EU will monitor "intolerant citizens." Adolescents and adults, who do not meet the EU requirements for "tolerance" should be re-educated. The right to freedom of expression in Europe is thus severely restricted. It threatens to impose a total Orwellian dictatorship in the style of the former USSR.

A draft of a new "monitoring program" of its "intolerant citizens" has been presented to the European Parliament Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) of the European Parliament by the European Council on Tolerance and Reconciliation (ECTR).

With the clever title "European Framework National Statute for the Promotion of Tolerance", the disturbing proposal would oblige European governments to monitor citizens who are considered to be "intolerant". This could therefore lead to a ban on all criticism against Islam asylum policy or feminism.

According to critical observers this statute provides an "unprecedented threat to the fundamental right to freedom of speech" and could ultimately lead to a severe restriction of the right to freedom of expression in Europe because it would prohibit some critical voices against Islam and Islamic law, the Sharia.

The proposal gets even better: The draft is states: "Members of vulnerable or disadvantaged groups will not enjoy any additional rights to the general protection to which the Government of each person is obligated within the state." Behind this is the demand that the right to free opinion manifestation of Europe's citizens must be limited so that no "additional" rights of minorities are affected by "intolerant" remarks. The mere satire would be prohibited. Again, "Big Brother", coupled with bureaucracy: The framework statute calls for the establishment of a "special administrative unit" in each of the 28 EU Member States, which is to supervise the enforcement and compliance of the Statute. This unit should be under be directly under the Ministry of Justice of a country and may impose penalties.

In addition to that each country is to create a "National Commission for monitoring of tolerance" to "promote tolerance". The draft also calls for the "re-education" of people who are classified as intolerant. "Those who have committed crimes and have been sentenced as teenagers are obliged to undergo a rehabilitation program which will instill a culture of tolerance into them." Schools should "require and encourage students to accept difference and diversity and to promote a climate of tolerance for the qualities and cultures of others. "

1. I agree with you that they should stay in their own countries. And this is something the Europeans are to blame for as they give out their citizenship to whoever comes in.

2. You say only the desperate ones leave their country - how do you explain that in 2015 the "desperate" ones included 80% young, healthy men?

Why do not they do something to improve their own countries? Or are they doing whatever it is called in Kuran - spreading Islam to non-muslim countries?

To us it seems like they come here to go on living the way they used to, they in fact insist on living that way but on our welfare.

3. You also say they cannot adapt to our ways - why do not they flee to similar, Muslim countries?

But I agree with you that the culture gap is too big and that it is difficult for them to adapt - again I blame the Europeans for not setting clear rules and I think we can agree that everyone who committs a crime or even a minor offence should be kicked out of Europe regardless of where he/she lands.

In every part of the world, even in ancient days in Egypt the Egyptians were using the Isrealiest to build Egypt. What am I saying here. I mean we use foreigners to build a nation by so doing learning that countries' native language is the prile objects of that countries' government. But some of the migrants refuse to learn the language and cultures, they even sometimes refuse the law because the officer who is telling what to do I a women and they think is inappropriate for a woman to telling the what to do. I think Merkel is trying to do the right thing or trying to improve the slow depreciating of the Germanys population by accepting the migrants from Syria and Iraq but they should also be mindful that these terror groups can as impregnate the masses because in human institutions when you take let 100 people you are likely to have about 30 been bad people. The EU is slowing collapsing because of the im flash of these migrants and is about time they quickly come with a very good reforms and policies to stop the collapsed and the im flash of the migrants.

I don't think Muslims can possibly integrate into Europe in the current numbers. They don't speak the languages of their host countries. I think Europe will collapse and descend into chaos.

Hello Capricorn, I share your sentiments that, their are strong men among them and they should have stayed in the home country to help solve the problem. Capricorn you are also forgetting the fact that it is their own government who is fighting against them in the person of Assad and the biggest threat for any, i mean any human being is to be attach by your own sitting president. It's not easy to wage a war against a sitting president in your own country and perhaps winning.

Roney, is it another excuse for refugees going exodus from Middle East to Europe? How can these man, who are claimed to wage a war against a sitting President in their home country, win or kick out the President by doing nothing than gambling their lives going to other country that are thousand kilometres away?

We know that those refugees did not come solely from Syria, but also from Irak, Pakistan and also from countries which have little relations with the existence of IS like countries in Africa.

To tell you the truth, the reason is not the war, but the lack of interests of these men staying in home country any longer because there is only little chance of them to have better lives back home.

More and more Morrocans and Algerians enter Greece from Turkey.

The article is in SLovenian, this is the summary:

More and more people from Morroco and Algeria enter Greece from Turkey. Despite the bad weather, still a bit more than 4000 people enter Greece every day. Turkey does not do anything to stop them, plus does not want to accept them when returned.

1. Are these people also going to be called refugees and welcomed to Europe? Yes, if you ask the do-gooders and the present political elite.
2. Has Merkel (and EU) made a good decision to give 3 bil to Turkey and to grant visa free entry to the Turks? Obviously not - the citizens of the North African countries do not have to have visas to enter Turkey, so going to Europe through Turkey is easier for them even now....and will be even more so!
3. Our media, and it seems also the media in other European countries, is very hush hush about the migrnats still entering our countries, almost no reporting on that anymore, so many people thnk the migration has stopped. WRONG! From 3000 to 5000 enter my country on a daily basis, they are transported by buses and trains to the border with Austria - of course the government is using our money while still going on with the austerity measures and the announcement of new taxes for the original population.
4. 3000 to 4000 enter daily, however, the numbers leaving do not match the ones entering - more and more just disappear! The same happens everywhere. Where are they? Who the hell are they? What are their intentions? We can only guess.

Happy New Year Europe!

I am afraid an economic union alone would not be sufficiant in this globalizing world. Look at the USA there the formula seems to work.
But the USA was not built in a few decennia! And the roots where it was built on were also different.

Exactly, the US is not comparable to Europe at all - the national states should stay, no supra-natonal monster (EU) and its babies (the Parlament and even more the Council and the rest of the lot) are needed - more and more they behave as if they were the Politburo of the Soviet Union! Those people are not held responsible for what they do or don't do by their voters, they live in a bubble and have no idea what the reality is like!

The bankers and the coorporations should be stopped and everything would be fine.
