For the first few years of my dating life I simply didn't notice guys who didn't fit my idea of attractive.
I still like looking at the type (tall, lounging, blond or brown-haired, broad-shouldered but slim) and probably always will. Looking only, now, because they are at least 20 years too young for me (and boring. Go know.)
Now my only requirement is that I like what I see when I glance across. All very well thinking oh! (or even oooh!) every time, but it isn't as comfortable, long term, as ahhh.
Elegsabiff: you SAY obviously but sometimes I wonder whether some wouldn't be just as happy with a non-talking, non-breathing, perfect-looking companion ...
But then I'd have to invest in one of those Ken dolls.

In SA because of car hi-jackings women could get a male passenger doll. Some were really rather good looking - and never, ever complained about women drivers
Elegsabiff: Your time has come. You've EARNED your perfect man. Even though you haven't a clue what to look for so could miss him in the street instead of tripping him, hog-tying him, and telling him how things are gonna be ...
Hail No! I'm far more subtle than that....aren't I?

Maybe some women should do the very same thing here in the USA.
Well, it used to be the long-haired, hippiesh look, dreads included
Now, it is the younger long-haired, hippiesh look, dreads included that I still look at
But for actual dating material, I like them tall, slim/well-built. Preferably with hair. Definitely with teeth. Not overweight. And as healthy looking as possible.
I need them to be mentally stable as well. But that is for another thread

You say mentally stable like it's a good thing *hurt voice*

Everyone has a type, though. What's yours?
I'd say I have a type that normally catches my eye, hair; blue eyes; taller than me, average weight, not skinny, however I have broke the rule and am open to breaking the rule.
It could just be a look in their eye or a connection to something they say that pulls me in and if they make me laugh they're half way there.

I'd love a nice date
It's the unexpected comment that does it for me too, makes me look again with fresh eyes
