I watched his Lazarus video last night and thought nobody should have to chronicle their own death. Not that he actually was doing that, but you have to know he was hinting in that direction. So sad, but classic Bowie.

hey....real fans knew EXACTLY what Lazarus was....as we knew what the last 7 song album was....Dave was a true class ACT!

Yes, he was...we lost Lemmy and Otis Clay all about the same time..., and I think the Stone Temple Pilots lost a lead singer....2016 is getting to be a rough year!

there was no musical merit in bowie's antics.......bowie was a disgusting perversion- unfit to be called human...his mental illness was undoubtedly aggravated by his use of marijuana and heroin......one can assume that the cause of death was AIDs- the homosexual disease....most people are happy that bowie is dead....

More like he took a load of drugs in an attempt to induce insanity and escape mundanity. Bowie was mad in the way that only a very intelligent man pretending to be mad could be. Bowie wasn't insane. Bowie was profoundly offended by banality. There's a difference.

What the? Bowie was a musical genius....your post is pretty disgusting in itself, and unfounded.

He was an intellectual. He was one of the clever sillies. He epitomised the eccentric and silly behaviour and beliefs of clever people. Ever notice how intellectual humour is f*ck silly? E.g. Monty Python. You have to be very clever to know when silly is funny.

Yet what I also like about Bowie is his cynical side. He's laughing at intellectuals and the clever sillies because he was also socially astute unlike most geeks. His work was a joke on his own fans and the way that intellectuals analyse. Half his songs means absolutely nothing but they're written in a way that geeky or pretentious will read something into. He was an intellectual taking the piss out of intellectuals because he wasn't a fool on any level.

Picasso did a similar thing(especially towards the end of his career). He'd deliberately create works of nonsense and bullshit so pretentious intellectuals from the world of modern art would come along and say what a stroke of genius it is and examine all the deep and hidden meanings which aren't actually there.

I like Bowie because he was creative but was well aware of how talentless, pretentious and full of shit the artsy and intellectual crowds are.

I do remember in the 80's, all the teenagers here were trying so badly to show to the world how different, innovative and sometimes crazy they are... It became absolutely stupid because very soon they all ended up looking and acting the same...
Not a huge fan of David but he was a part of our teenage life, strange, pompous, not completely understood by many but "modern"...
He was then what we tried to be, shining out of the crowd, provocative, out of the frame... But people don't realise the eagerness to differ makes us all the same... David knew how to play this card and did it well... wine

In fact, I believe he WAS chronicling his own death...and for that I hold him in admiration. A unique and talented individual that shall be missed. And, although David "experimented" with many religions, he finally settled on atheism...thus his video chronicle was to be expected...a FINAL farewell so to speak.

a better place without certain people in it, this certainly
applies to you, total scum of the earth.very mad very mad

known by many just fanatical fans like me rolling on the floor laughing
