No I am not that open minded. I am open minded enough to get along, but I make up my own mind and then it is pretty set. I will say that I am open minded enough to examine the evidence, and I believe I'm fair minded, but not always open minded. I seldom change opinions once formed, or habits at someone else's bidding.
I question EVERYTHING...."authority" is not a good enough reason for me to agree with something. Some people have occasionally misinterpreted that as insolence. It's not. I am from a culture where one speaks one's own mind. Question Everything

“If someone is able to show me that what I think or do is not right, I will happily change, for I seek the truth, by which no one was ever truly harmed. It is the person who continues in his self-deception and ignorance who is harmed.” ? Marcus Aurelius,
For me open-minded means to not feel attacked or uncomfortable or alienated when someone is different from me in thinking, being, looks .. whatever, and to not judge others or follow any generalisations.
In my eyes it is often like that that people consider themselves as open-minded, but it is almost the opposite. Their mind or soul feel "tight" and not open for me because they have limits in how they see the world, so that they are not able to even imagine there is more than their world.
It seems to me there is a point along the continuum where open-mindedness becomes gullibility. Knowing exactly where that point is can be somewhat difficult depending on the circumstances.

The anarchy increased in our world due to moral relativism... Find someone who, in your opinion, believes, assumes, or considers certain things very strongly and very differently from you, and just have a basic honest conversation.

KenTn: Many people believe truly open-minded people must consider they may not be open-minded.
Biased aren't we. We try to filter the world through established knowledge and we're prejudiced by what we think is right or wrong. A man's virtue is his prejudice(I believe it was Burke who said that).
No we're not open-minded. We must try to understand as much as possible but then we must discern what we will and will not accept. A person should be more understanding than accepting. More open-minded than open-hearted.

man and woman must at all times be cautious, for it might be a good thing to be open to nre ideas but be careful, there are people who are skillful at manipulation and will take advantage of an unwary soul. Be trusting and listen to ideas but be cautious.
