Well you only have to let one tyre down, and they'd be going in circles making disabled noises.

Neither of your options. If I fell in love, whether she was disabled or not wouldn't matter.
After all at anytime in our lives we could end up disabled and hopefully your partner would not just walk away.

thumbs up
Money comes and goes, careers end, children grow up and move away, partner get sick, family members die, senility or illness sets in when your older, but the ability to make each other feel good, wanted, desirable and laughing together 'every day' is the most precious gift we can get through all of life's up's and down's and this makes all the difference.

I can see the wording for the first option may not be the best. Sorry about that! If you select that first one, it simply means you would. Nothing more...thumbs up

I have several disabled friends for whom over many years I have designed and fitted out Special workshops in limited space in their Home for their hobbies and others who are active members of Model engineering, Pottery, Jewellery, Arts and Crafts clubs able to lead as they say a more pleasurable life. (1)
I have also designed and made bespoke Equipment for special needs requirements working with orthopedic surgeons, Technicians and Occupational and Physio-therapists. (2)

The facts are that in most cases we all need to recognise that Physical disability is more easy and less expensive to cope with and design for, than Mental disability which needs much much more Nursing care and specialist training.

So given the criteria of 1 and 2 above - my answer Is Yes - because several of the Art and Craft Hobbyists and a few Modelmakers are women and their families are much happier than they were when the Government and NHS abandoned them .

I know some delightful disabled people, it would not be a bar to griendship, and never has been, but I would have to like them, for amongst the disabled there are bad people as well.

I have never been in love with a disabled person, if I was, who knows!!!!!!!

I'm disabled since birth. I'm finding it difficult to find someone who is serious enough to take it out of the "friend zone".

I have a lot to offer, and feel that any relationship must include give and take. I may not be able to drive or climb ladders, but there are lots of things I can do.

Due to my physical limitations I have pursued interests in technology and creativity. I'm hoping to find someone who wants to work with me and share my passions in life as an inventor in the field of electronics and robotics. I also love math, science, gardening, nature, astronomy, and architectural design.

I love kids and hope to start a family.

I don't think any girl with a good heart would be disappointed.

That's exactly what I mean. Disabled people like us have so many problems as far as finding relationships, and I often hear about how we're no different than anyone else, and that a wheelchair doesn't mean anything. This is why I started the poll. I wanted to find out if that was true.dunno conversing

i couldn't be bothered with previous comments, but thought i'll say my piece, if it's to help anyone.
i really don't care about labels, but i still need to satisfy my urges when i am intimate with somebody. so if that's done it doesn't matter.

If any of you ever think that life is tough, watch
the Incredible Love Story of Nick Vujicic and His Wife.
Nick Vujicic, born without arms or legs, never thought he would find love. But, God blessed him with a wonderful wife. She loves him for who he is.
In his condition Nick could of be depressive and lifeless but he's turn his disadvantage in advantage to make an impact in the world and influence others to go the extra mile in life no matter what...

Know a girl that is married (and they have a kid) with a guy in a wheelchair. They simply always were a great couple very much into each other.

When I look around me, a lot of people in their 40's or 50's already have fairly severely health issues - they are not disabled as such, but have limitations in what they can do or not. You have to find someone you can do the things you want to do and that are important to you (do you want someone to be able to run a marathon with you?) and if that is the case and a person simply hits it off with someone that has some sort of limitations, why not?

I understand you, on land they´ld be hard to take care of but not in the sea. Just put a life jacket on said arm and legless person and maybe a fake shark fin too or an outboard motor. The list is endless really and the amount of fun to be had is there for all to see.

So it is with many people in the UK and I suggest worldwide - I have had arguments for many years with the authorities over what I do in Private to assist disabled people who have been systematically sabotaged financially and persecuted by our successive Governments for years ahn treteed like non persons. Via Parliament, the Treasury, Education and Social Security ministries have declared war on the disabled by cuts to benefits and outright harassment of the genuine claimants by bullying social workers and other so called experts with inflated Ology degrees in the NHS who do not like my undiplomatic language and positive contribuion.

Living in London, I am not surprised at a lack of compassion or understanding, where only the fittest and wealthy are respected.
I suggest you and others avail yourselves of the many wonderful achievements and facilities at the various Medical & Bio Medical Engineering & Research Centres in the UK and in particular London, for example, to name but two - Roehampton, and Kings College so that your knowledge will be improved and opinions more educated.
