So far as I can see from road tests and reviews ... most are still far too heavy, far too thirsty and still pretty useless on twisty bits ... not to mention they drink like fish!

The modern equivalent of a covered wagon in most cases ... fine in a straight line !

The new Mustang is 'trying hard' but ... maybe there's no pint in making the comaprison as US 'sportscars' are rteally what Europeans would see as heavy touring cars - well suited for driving on the USA's 'straight as faer as you can see' roads?

Whereas in Europe, and roads that generally have more kinks than a porn film festival ... it was necessary to develop 'suspension' and 'steering' systems that the US hasn't yet heard of ?

;-)

A lot of European cars have steering wheels now.

What surprises me is that America hates trains and public transport because the locomotive is a socialist, loves cars because of personal choice and freedom, then builds a car with the free movement of a train.

Have you aver read all the stories and funnies about The Model T ?
The Book to read is Henry's Wonderful Model T by Floyd Clymer if you can get a copy

I love the Ford T Specials, Speedsters and Race cars of the teens 20's and 30's and my Paternal grandfather had two model T vans and a Morris Bull nose Cowley van long before I was born. laugh wine bouquet

I owned a Toyota MR2. It hugged the road like a champ at 110 mph and was the most dependable car I've ever owned! My Chevy Corvette, on the other hand was a piece of garbage. Totally overpriced status symbol. Couldn't wait to get rid of it! Have never bought another American 'sports' car. thumbs down

Well the new Vettes are 660hp supercharged, and their new suspension, and 345/45 20" Tires can handle the twisty bits.

Well, at least those heavy cars built in the USA come with all season tires and you don't usually need an additional set of wheels and tires for winter. crying
