I've read articles online, some say that poetry is dead, and others say it's not. What do you think?

"I wandered lonely as a cloud,
that floats on high o'er vales and hills
when all at once I heard a shout
get off the effing daffodils!"

Seriously though, some poetry is lovely and I bet we all remember at least a line or two out of poems we learnt at school.

Definitely not as popular as it once was over all. You'd have to be studying or interested in literature.

Here's a racy line:
"Thou still unravished bride of quietness..."

Bet they were fanning themselves profusely at that one! laugh

When every language of the world dies so will every lyric , prose, and poem...A poem is like a phoenix out of its ashes all words shall live again!

I believe in physical attraction and Love

When I see a lovely woman with only small breasts
I say nice but not big enough to see
But when I see a woman with big ones I say
Darling YOU are beautiful and just right for me rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Is poetry dead
Or are we just f*cked in the head
And not on a bed
Is poetry pretty
But not the same as a titty
For that would be a pity
Is poetry great
Even if written on a paper plate
Will it seal its own fate

Yes poetry is well and truly dead as iv just destroyed it

Cheers for the laugh

I may sound crazy to say it but a laugh a day keeps the white coats away

There was an ole man from Kildare
Who's arse was always so bare
Apart from the matted grey hair
Which looked like an old grizzly bear
His face was the same
So the name of the game
Is to make sure you don't kiss down there
uh oh

There was an ole man from Kent
Who liked the occasional vent
No small titties for Mike
As its big titties he likes
And preferably two of a kind
On CS Mike hopes to find
So all CS ladies who do fit the bill
Contact Mike quick before they do read his will
uh oh

Poetry might be dead uh oh

Witty, the art of poetry is about the sparse but powerful use of words at key intervals to highlight dramatic aspects of the narrativeprofessor
Although it sounds ironic, when you use two titties sandwiched tightly together in the one poem there is no space for either of them to breathe which renders the poem as a wrong sized brascold

Sorry Witty, poetry is not your strong suit even if ya did get it right about the matted hair professor

Probably if you look up poetry on the Internet, there will be heaps. But if you look up porn there would be a thousand times more. So yeah poetry has passed away.

Dabble in a little political poetry now and again.

f*ck You, Blair!

f*ck you, Blair!
Iraq is still in a mess, Blair
What were you even doing there in the first place, Blair?
You lied to parliament, Blair
Are you happy now, Blair?
f*ck you, Blair!

What's really special about this poem is how the last line is the same as the first.

I have found certain words trigger people to being poetic. Nantucket is such a word.
