depends on the situation...
alone..working in the studio, i'm more apt to choose a good merlot.
yet, with friends, i really enjoy sharing a good shiraz...a bit lighter.
toss in dinner, and what i choose changes again..
sooo... for me.... my wine choice remains situational....
lately i've become very fond of our homemade shiraz (it's south african).
having said that, i've enjoyed drinking terrible wine (outta a box, outta a bag....) because the company shared made it all worthwhile.

Hi Life, generally Spanish wine is palatable, but some better than others
I have yet to drink Mexican wine though :-)
One of the nicest wines I've ever tasted was from an organic winery in Victoria, Oz
It was beautiful

Organic and having alcohol there goes the "organic"
There are some good Mexican wines and I get to try them because a friend of mine is into research (as a job) of table wines

14 vanilla beans
1/2 cup of lavender flowers
10 cardamom seeds
I put them in a carboy last June.
There was so much honey the hydrometer floated above the scale, up to the directions.
That means, there's no way to tell how strong it is.
The alcohol content is literally off the charts.

I would assume there was a fermentation taking place (did you add some yeast?).
How many alcohol degrees there is in it?
How do you call that mix?

It is interesting that you make your own mead
Mead would be an ancient traditional drink from here, but I never hear of people making it themselves

I think the reason people don't make meade in Ireland is because it's hard to get the alcohol level up and because the end product if watery and tastes a bit like bile. Refined white sugar is your only man for good grog

It's a very strong and sweet honey wine called, "mead."
It's written about in our most ancient literatrue... Persian cuniform, the Hindu Vedas, Eutruscian writings, Homer wrote about it.
They found Midas' castle with so many vessels of grape mead, they believe his legendary gold was mead; and mead is also in the Viking's Poetic Eddas.

I read so much about it; but never found it in a store: so I made it.
I think that some of the oldest mead was made with pomegranate juice.
There's lots of sites online with mead recipes. I recommend using one with more honey.

Last year I made apple/ghost pepper mead with less honey.
It tastes like a dry white wine; and my neighbor loves it.
I really like the sweet pomegranate mead better; and it's stronger. ;)
