mykingdomforanam: No, I've never seen a ufo over the rain forest where I live.

I missed every eclipse, the blood moons and the super moon too.

I've been interested in astronomy since the 80's; but the sky over me is usually so overcast, I never bothered to buy a telescope.

I'm not really a night person either.

My Daughter's mom claimed to have seen one though.

She said it was big and cruising slowly not too high above her.

interesting, Now he is seeing them all the time. day in and I think at night as well. I just had to ask when I saw you were in Hawaii. I have never been. Well, thanks for the input. I appreciate it.

Slain SEAL’s dad wants answers: ‘Don’t hide behind my son’s death’

William Owens, clutching a photo of son Ryan, the SEAL killed in a January commando raid, says the administration is wrong to say that anyone who questions the raid does his son a disservice. emichot@miamiherald.com

William Owens’ home in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea holds the medals his son earned, some of them posthumously. He was determined ‘to be the best,’ the father says.

When they brought William “Ryan” Owens home, the Navy SEAL was carried from a C-17 military plane in a flag-draped casket, onto the tarmac at Dover Air Force Base, as President Donald Trump, his daughter, Ivanka, and Owens’ family paid their respects.
It was a private transfer, as the family had requested. No media and no bystanders, except for some military dignitaries.

Owens’ father, Bill, had learned only a short time before the ceremony that Trump was coming. Owens was sitting with his wife, Marie, and other family members in the solemn, living room-like space where the loved ones of the fallen assemble before they are taken to the flight line.

“I’m sorry, I don’t want to see him,’’ Owens recalled telling the chaplain who informed him that Trump was on his way from Washington. “I told them I don’t want to meet the President.”

It had been little more than 24 hours since six officers in dress uniform knocked on the door to Owens’ home in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. It was not yet daylight when he answered the door, already knowing in the pit of his stomach what they had come to tell him.

Now, Owens cringed at the thought of having to shake the hand of the president who approved the raid in Yemen that claimed his son’s life — an operation that he and others are now calling into question.

“I told them I didn’t want to make a scene about it, but my conscience wouldn’t let me talk to him,” Owens said Friday, speaking out for the first time in an interview with the Miami Herald.

Owens, also a military veteran, was troubled by Trump’s harsh treatment of a Gold Star family during his presidential campaign.

Now Owens was a Gold Star parent, and he said he had deep reservations about the way the decision was made to launch what would be his son’s last mission.

Ryan and as many as 29 civilians were killed Jan. 28 in the anti-terrorism mission in Yemen. What was intended as a lightning raid to grab cellphones, laptops and other information about terrorists turned into a nearly hour-long firefight in which “everything went wrong,” according to U.S. military officials who spoke to the New York Times.

Bill Owens said he was assured that his son, who was shot, was killed early in the fight. It was the first military counter-terrorist operation approved by the new president, who signed the go-ahead Jan. 26 — six days into his term.

“Why at this time did there have to be this stupid mission when it wasn’t even barely a week into his administration? Why? For two years prior, there were no boots on the ground in Yemen — everything was missiles and drones."

There's just about every kind of weather and terrain on the island where I live.

High desert, low desert, jungle, rain forest, etc.

Half of the town Waiamea is prickly pear cactus and rocks: the other half reminds me of Ireland.

Start a bike ride from Waiamea in freezing rain...

In about a 1/2 hour, you'll just want an ice cold Slurpee.

I think we're only missing two possible kinds of terrain on the island of Hawaii: tundra's one of them.

Your friend could live 50 miles away from me, in the desert.

They almost always have a good view of the sky; but I get all my water from God, for free.

If you Google Earth the Big Island, you'll see lots of above ground swimming pools.

Those are water catchment tanks.

Most people 50 miles to the west of me have to pay for a truck to haul their water, unless they live in a city with pipes.

Come on Conrad, you can do better than that.

You know as much about resoning fallacies as anybody.

Why bother posting red herrings?

Seems the wife of Ryan Owens is not mad at Trump. I mean, she showed up at his speech....and Trump, and all of America (except, probably, you OP, and the Dems faux military support forcing them to finally stand and applaud) wrapped her in a big, comforting embrace.
But hey, continue throwing shlt on the wall hoping something sticks in your ongoing endeavor of Trump hate....that's all this poll is.

All of America?

Except Ryan's Dad; but why should a veteran who's also a police officer count with somebody like you?

And everybody who's ever lived in a military town knows: military wives are famous for giving it up to "Jody."

She's on stage getting hugs, Ryan's full retirement...

and, she's probably got a man or three on the side.

Why should she complain?

In a divorce she'd have to share Ryan's retirement with him.
.

Ryan's Dad didn't get a hug or anything, not even the investigation he asked for.

Wives divorce their husbands everyday!

But, Ryan would never have had more than one Dad.

"and all of America (except, probably, you OP..."

REALLY?

This is a yes or no poll; and you've been outvoted on it.

But, hey... I expected "alternative facts" and shlt slinging at me, when I started this poll.
