The nicest rabbit cage I ever saw was the bed from a pick up truck, filled with dirt and fenced.
The bunnys had tunnels going all through it; and they really loved playing in them, popping their heads out, playing hide and seek, and chasing eachother in and out of the holes.
It's not easy being a rabbit, I usually have between 2-10 rabbits living on my property. I love watching them run around, chasing each other around. I also have fox's and coyote's that come around after dark, looking for rabbits. last year, I came home one day and a turkey vulture was ripping a rabbit apart half way down my driveway, I stopped and watched, it took about 15 minutes, all that was left was the feet/legs. It's not easy being a rabbit.

It's not easy being green either..
My daughter rescued a gorgeous green tree frog who was exhausted and dehydrated in her work carpark
After taking him inside, putting him in a cool area with some water and letting him rest she then gently placed him out in the garden just to have a kookaburra swoop down and carry him off for lunch
Len05: In december i save a rabbit nearby. just before the frost. he was domesticated. i didn't want a pet. I saved the poor things life. he had fleas and few days after it froze - 8. Ever since i do hate myself for keeping the animal in an asocial cage. And i didn't want a pet. Rabbits are poopmachines. they eat a lot and process a lot. and liquid the same His name is leeuwekoning (lion king).
i prepared my daughter, I took him last weekend to my parents garden. first few hours in a cage to accomodate to the garden habitat.
Then open a hole in the cage, gave a shelter, food and such. He had a great afternoon, what a digger and people's rabbit.
At night, the automatic floodlights ( a few) of my parents scared it out of the property.
At noon, a lady brought it back, asked if she could keep the special, relaxed, cute rabbit. She was searching for a second one, just has to cut off the balls.
So Leeuwekoning has found himself a boss in less than 24 hours of freedom. He'll be in a garden everyday, and back in an outside cage everynight. He'll have a male neutered companion.
Maybe it beats getting eaten by foxes or birds of prey, but i found it hard to tell the lady she couldn't keep him because he should be free.

What was she gonna do with the balls and where will they be in the garden
Just bury balls at other end of garden, then foxes will eat them and not the rabbit

So i decided to drop it outside again in springtime. to have a chat, have a gf, get eaten.
Now i decide to postpone, because maybe after first rabbit babies being born he won't be the first on the menu.
Somewhere i feel bad for 'getting him killed' he is white as hell. Somewhere i feel bad to drop him between the agouti's. But life in a cage might be worse. I can clean his diapers and buy his food, this is not the point.
Ethically i would say to let him free controlled. somewhere i do think this is a waste and irrelevant.. I would drop him with my parents so food could be present but also 2 12y old cats that hunt baby rabbits. I would drop him at work but i saw 2 foxes there.
Cooking him myself would be more ethical? The vet estimated his value at worthless.
He didn't do any damages/bite so i have no dislike to him.

Drop him/her off to a local SPCA or put a notice up at your local market
