Technology is great, but nothing beats building tree houses, flying down hills at breakneck speed on home made carts, or dragging a raft you made to the river to see if it floated or not
I'm certainly glad I grew up without the techno gadgets too. I'm not so sure my mom enjoyed all that for me though.... you know coming home late with ripped pants, bruised knees, cling-ones in my jeans cuffs, forgetting and losing my shirt somewhere, putting a baseball ball through a neighbors window while playing baseball with my sandbox friends ......

Agree 100% with this....nothing beats getting into mischief and playing outside all day with lots of friends till the street lights came on and it was time to go home.

Lots of good times and never bored
Yeppers, chasing rainbows, going outside barefoot in summer rain storms, hang jumping off the neighbours roof.....it's all good fun until we get hurt. Even winter was more tolerable when I was young.

Yeah, we swam in the river, picked blackberries of the hedges, i spent a lot of time at a farmers place, with his son, pretending to be helping, we were probably more of a nuisance, but he was very patient with us Getting drives on the farmers floats, when they were bringing the hay, very dangerous,,, but we didn't think so at the time

I think technology might have helped to distract me from all the crap that was going on during my childhood but I found other ways to divert my attention from it
I agree Sofia the advantages of technology far outweigh the nostalgia of only the good times remembered .
I remember the thrill of owning my first computer, a S Sinclair Quantum Leap, when i see the fantastic increase in the power of I could live another 100 years to see the mind boggling advances that will come.

I must say I love it too and have often said that had it been available earlier, I would have pursued a career in the industry
