Time will tell for certain. There are real people just as well as fake and scammers. I think pretty much every one that partake in the forums, easily qualify as real. Situations may create personal views, not fully verified, right and wrong. The nature of the social side on the internet. Many real that aren't in the forums too. So far, I'm voting to remain the same as I arrived here.
Extremely possible the day will come I won't bother with these sites and drop them as hard as I did with the specialized chat/video/audio programs years ago.
I do keep propaganda book, face book for some. People think it gets bad here but I have yet to see any thing beat out propaganda book when it comes to conflict and more. Scammers and fakes in the mix there too.
It may be more common but there isn't much you might encounter online that you won't encounter in daily life. Daily life is much more controlled with the personal interactions so it may not seem as harsh or large scale.
