Hi, I'm from South Africa where we have the tenth biggest road network in the world....so they say. We have 750 000km of roads in South Africa that are gravel/unpaved....with 158 124km being paved/tar. The trend here is to off-road although we have great tar passes.and numerous mountainous areas...which we know makes for interesting riding no matter whether tarred or dirt. I'm on a KTM 990 S...you?
I cut through parks and parking lots at full speed, did 85 on every back road; and the only time I obeyed traffic laws, was when there were cops around.
It was fun while it lasted; but I'm sure it would've killed me.
I,m a biker........pedal biker......when motor cyclist go past me at 90 miles an hour.....I pedal after them...........when i,m along side them........I say to them..........*whats the rush*..........and whats with the big helmet.....????????........just saying......

That's me too.
I've never had a license to drive a car.
I love my bicycle! and travelling without a motor.
I rode bicycles way more miles than I drove any kind of motor vehicle.
I've traveled more miles paddling and sailing in a canoe, than I've put on a motor.
I'm allergic to combustion engines; and I hate the sound and smell of 'em.
Big surprises come in small packages so to speak. I was a genuine tomboy going up cause I had older brothers. My older sisters were genuine tomboys also.We were never afraid to break a nail or two.
The only Bike I ever owned and rode was One of two Standing Start 1/4 mile Speed trials Excelsior Sprint Specials that were self designed, built and used in 1961, 62, 63. They achieved under 14 seconds.
The bikes were Basically stripped down & altered rigid frame Excelsior Consort Frames, with a 328 cc Villiers 2 stroke twin engine & gearbox. - The heads were machined down to a 14:1 Compression ratio and they ran on Nitro from a Quickly Tank - They had only 1 brake and modified Straight Racing Bars, a small front wheel and a Fat 600 x 19" back Tyre.
