Serbian on the list? It must be thanks to Dedovix.
My native tongue is Serbian, but I understand Croatian, Bosnian and Montenegrin just the same.
(During the time of ex-Yugoslavia there was the language called Serbo-Croatian (or Croato-Serbian), but when ex-Yugoslavian republics became independent countries the languages also became independent. There are some differences among the Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian and Montenegrin languages, but for native speakers they are very small and insignificant, so we sometimes joke that each one of us speaks many foreign languages. A short explanation for those who might be interested. )
***** There’s no official language for us Ohioans. *****
(How do u Get a quote from another comment on the polls to display properly in the polls ?)
In South Africa we have 11 official languages !
There are eleven official languages of South Africa: Afrikaans, English, Ndebele, Northern Sotho, Sotho, Swazi, Tsonga, Tswana, Venda, Xhosa and Zulu. Fewer than two percent of South Africans speak a first language other than an official one. Most South Africans can speak more than one language.
I was brought up Afrikaans & English ! Studied some German at school ! Xhosa is spoken in the area I originate from. We had a Xhosa nanny, so picked up some. Zulu is spoken in the area I now work in.
