I’d like to see the USA one time mothball half it’s military for one year and take the savings from that and put it in education and mental health funds in the USA.

That would also give us a good look how the world would be without USA military presence around the world.

I am all pro with our military presence Galrads. I wouldn't change a thing with our system other than be more responsive to our needs when called for.

Seems to be the solution for every civilised country in the world. The International America Firsters don't support your gun culture where normally they're willing to humiliate themselves if that places you in a good light. With one or two exceptions they're not so mad as that.

Yes...and keep the military and war enthusiasts out of countries they have no reason to be in...Iraq comes to mind...

The American people do not need war mongers in government...they need to have access to education and healthcare...and forget that wall...stop inducing fear into the American people...

Perhaps it is needed for other countries to step up and contribute...maybe peaceful meaningful conversations will take place...wine

By the way about the Wall...imagine Lou never feels the burden of them illegals coming easily to our country. What does that tell me? And the world in general is that she favors for the destruction of my country. Imagine, the staggering amount of 100 billion supporting these illegals while only 10 billion or a fraction of that to build the wall.

Protecting our border is of extreme priority if we really want our country to be first and great again. She will never understand that.

Many people are coming to Canada...due to your war on illegals...but the truth is...they are better off in Mexico...or China...as the manufacturing jobs are in Mexico or abroad...the USA has crumbling infrastructure and the white population are not being reeducated into better jobs...like Clinton suggested...a change is needed...automation not just a change in energy is seen as the real way of progress...

You forget that the trend of Mexicans entering America is down...lol...laugh

Americans are fed fear mongering...just like what happened in Europe...thumbs down

Correction, the above paraghraph was for Conrad.

Anyways, Lou, don't stop us then in building our walls as it is imperative to keep them where they are. Mexico as you said.

Of course, I would not discouraged people on doing the right thing by entering legally.

stringman: mental health and guns don't mix.

The one thing that all of these mass shootings seem to have in common is that the perpetrator had been prescribed mind bending psychotic drugs. Common sense tells me that a sane, logical individual is not going to pick up a gun and go shooting lots of people for a laugh. There is no way of legislating against that, and there is no way of banning guns in the USA. I would guess that there are millions of guns and the ammunition in houses, hidden in the garden, and stashed in the countryside. No matter what any politician says, it could never be achieved.

You make me laugh! You bandy words about like you KNOW something! You think you British are anybody;s "darlings"? The only reason that YOU aren't mentioned as much as we Americans, in the hate mail of the world, is that YOU HAVE ALREADY been disposed of! So YOU are NOT WORTH their time to hate, anymore! But how many countries have been under the British thumb? MORE than have been under the American thumb! You're EXACTLY the type of "hater" that laws NEED to address! Trying to hide behind a facade of intelligence and erudition will only fool the foolish, Mr. HAVE all the answers! If you had ONE, you MIGHT be worth some consideration. But you DONT comtribute! serene56: I just had an epiphany after listening to comments from some American youth (not involved in this tragedy)

Those of you on here who support the right to bear arms are senior citizens (as is your president), perhaps you represent the Old Guard in your country.

The remarks I heard did not represent your long-held views, let's hope your youth has the vigour and drive to remove these antiquated notions and maybe some day America will be great again and innocent lives saved.

I'm glad you had an epiphany, Serene. But the moment our youth give up their rights to own guns and defend themselves, is the moment they'll give up their freedom! Their right to life, liberty, and happiness. I'm sorry that this SOUNDS callous, but, in truth, I'm willing to sacrifice a few lives, to save the lives of the many! And, quite honestly, it's the QUALITY of our lives, that is at stake! If you're WILLING to do SOMEBODY ELSE'S work, to work FOR them, then YOU give up you guns! And your right to defend yourself. And your right to go where YOU want to fo. And DO what YOU want to do! In other words, YOUR freedom! But, PERSONALLY (speaking only for myself), "I" LIKE my freedom! Life has ALWAYS been a struggle! And men have ALWAYS died! Some for purposes. Some to NO purpose. And EVEN IF you were to manage to educate the violence out of ALL men, lives would STILL be lost! Death was our inheritance, the moment we were born! Like everyone else, I'd PREFER dying tomorrow, over dying today. But at least I didn't die YESTERDAY! But the reason man has progressed to the point he has, is that men (AND women) HAVE BEEN WILLING to die, FOR that progress! Deaths WILL occur! True, some of them have occurred uselessly and purposely. But when has THAT NEVER been the case? When has man EVOLVED into a peaceful creature? Are you ANTICIPATING that THAT will change - ANYTIME, in the near future? MAYBE! Once we quit dividing ourselves into races, and nations, and OTHER pointless categories! Once we learn that our "egos" are our problem! But, even when we ALL figure out we're human beings, men will STILL strive with one another - over power, money, position, all sorts of "preeminence". Until you can SHOW ME that people WILL work for the common good, people WILL need some way to defend themselves from oppression by their fellow man! Sad! But true! But I'd rather KNOW the truth, because THEN I can prepare/deal with it! If I REFUSE to see the truth, I'll SURELY NOT be prepared for it! Wake up! God gave men eyes! LOOK around you. If you CONTINUE to walk around WITHOUT "seeing" the truth, then you're SURELY going to fall into the ditch! And NO ONE will be able to pull you out! The FIRST RULE of helping somebody, is to help YOURSELF! Because IF you don't see to yourself, you WON'T have the ability/capacity to HELP ANYBODY ELSE! Let those with ears, listen. I can't help you others.

"Yes! American's HAVE a history of independence and self-reliance! We tend to take OUR "problems" into OUR OWN hands. You're right, about that! Would that the rest of the world did TOO! And you Britist should be EXTREMELY thankful that WE do! We've pulled YOUR bacon out of the fire MORE than once! On the whole, Americans DO what they do, because THEY think it's the right thing to do. Sure, we have some nut cases running around. But are YOU implying that YOU don't? You have MORE terrorist cases in England, than we do, in the USA. And what problems we HAVE, tend to be our own. We don't export them! Or try to get OTHERS to solve them FOR us! Me thinks you should address the stick in YOUR eye, before you start trying to tell US, about the splinter in OUR eye"

Absolutely enlightening Let..Keep it going.

No offense, Harbal, but I SERIOUSLY DOUBT you a "gifted" ANYTHING! Not even a gifted flim-flam artist! And, as far as your "psychology" expertise, you OBVIOUSLY AREN'T well grounded, or you wouldn't make such obviously ignorant comments, statements and assertions! A person trained in psychology would be EASILY capable of making himself "liked"! But, since YOU can't/aren't doing that, I HAVE to consider the source, when evaluating your "assertion", that you know ANYTHING about psychology! Either get real, or get off the forums!
