CossackCat: I would need more options. I don't think ALL women think that way. Besides most men think or say or believe, they are a "Good Guy". They certainly say it more than women say "I am a good woman"
I would never say all women or anyone think the same way about topics... yet in my experience with friends, family and yes even strangers... i have watched and observed how some of the female persuasion say one thing yet mean something different when it comes to what they are looking for. could say its a basic contradiction in looking for what will make them happy. Not at all. i would never think people in general would want just settle or take what is given. I am not saying a good guy should look like he just step out of a garbage can. people should try and groom and look decent... if anything to build their own self confidence... yet you know what the Rev says... You simply cannot pour syrup on a turd and make it a pancake. lol So let me ask this question... how often will a ambercrombie looking guy take the time to try and get to know the woman is trying to date? or is he just over confident in his looks and attitude that it doesn't matter?

What I do know is, good looks are something you are either born with or not. That is not a choice of yours. The choice comes into play in whether you want to sell yourself on your looks or on your personality.
I know very attractive people, with great personalities. Because they do not define themselves on their looks.
And not everybody is good-looking to everybody else, and not every person is ugly to everybody else.
That is the beauty of diversion - different people like different looks and personalities.
The trick is to find someone that you like who also likes you.

The women picks ugly on the inside over beautiful on the outside. Providing he doesn't look like Quasimodo the most important thing to her is that he's a selfish moral blank, at least in our culture.
Remember that when women liberated themselves from civilisation what they arrived at is social darwinism. Barbarism, animal spirits and the law of the jungle. Women are today as in the days of pre-civilisaton aroused by the type of man who would, if the circumstance arose, stab someone elses baby if this provided advantage to her own offspring. How a person dresses & presents themselves, are a reflection on their personality.
If a person is well groomed & smart in appearance, it generally means they carry that trait into their relationships, whereas, if a person is a fat slop, with no dress sense, it generally means they care little about themselves & probably likewise for their potential partner!

I see a double standard in society. If a man chooses by looks, not a word of objection is spoken. Other than maybe, "he has a trophy wife". And the trophy wife is referred to as a "gold digger"Rev@32
If a woman chooses by looks she is judged as shallow or superficial.
As if men are saying "Stop thinking like us, set higher standards!"
If life was that simple plenty of people would no longer be single. A person may not have great looks,but if they don't make an effort with their appearance what is the point?
You can have a great character and personality but looking scruffy, unkempt is also telling the person you don't care about yourself. There are plenty of people that adopt the attitude take me as you find me. Well as much as I am attracted to personality and character. I still need to see you make an effort to look after you.

Someone nice and polite I can have an interesting conversation with. 
While I still exchanged messages with men on CS, the only thing that mattered about their photo was that they were not half-naked on them or that they didn't have some fake photo of an actor or a model. I gave a chance to any decent-looking man.

Was a superficial one when younger and it was all about the looks of a guy....they normally ended up being the bad boy type.
