I would never want to watch romantic movies on a first date with someone I barely know.First date with me was always meeting somewhere for coffee and conversation. If he's interested for a second date dinner would work for me.
The first date I'd agree to let him pick up the check for coffee unless he wants to split it.
The second date I would insist that I pay half of the check. I know from experience that that doesn't go over too well with Italian men. I put 20 dollars on the table to pay for half the check and the man nearly went ballistic. He just wouldn't accept it so I left it for the waitress.

If a guy go to bar pick up somone from there.
he need to pay all the expanses ...even though TAXI fare in the morning ( remember morning taxi tare if you dont pay and whole night you spend millions) you would called cheap and looser..

If she needs to attend an important meeting or go to work in the morning she should not just go around sleeping in people's beds...unless she has a couple of outfits in his wardrobe but that will presume a relationship...
