I get sick and tired of women who, (within their rights to some degree) say, "I want kids of my own", but fail to see (or blatantly refuse to) that the world has way too many mouths to feed and has done for many years.
It also makes me cringe when I see/read/hear people who aggressively deny that the larger the population, the greater the effect (direct or not) it has on the ever-worsening state of health of our planet.
While I'm in full favour of life in general terms (life, culture, living, the sights, sounds, smells, music etc etc etc), I happen to fully agree with Sir David Attenborough when he said that humans are a cancer on planet Earth; the man is right, we ARE (in my humble opinion).
What do YOU think about world population? Is it totally out of control or can we actively do something to curb its ever-increasing numbers or should we in fact think of much harsher methods before nature decides for us (if you think it hasn't already started its processes)?
My simple and abridged opinion is this: Yes, the world is massively over-populated and we've triggered a chain of events that will, from the 21st century onwards, begin the rapid and destructive demise of the human race - and it's long past the point of no return (climate-based natural events, caused by our overpopulation).
Please, just discuss the topic of overpopulation, not my opinions about it, I just wanted to raise the topic, not get drilled or harassed for it. Thank you.
Without any problems Planet earth can withstand 15 billion people Artificial shortage in energy and food is created cause people are seen as unnecessary ballast, burdan for the elite

I agree with you. " people are disposable for the elite." - and we should understand what elite means. It is not having a Ferrari that makes you elite.
Working in M&A, arena, I can tell you that the main "objective" into buying a business is ego, and sometimes is not about the bottom line.

There is nothing new under the sun. Humans will escape thru stargates and the earth will be destroyed again like it has done many times un the past. And the cycle continues....
The planet is more than capable of supporting today's population..and billions more if need. However, given that fertility is in decline (as a result of western societies activities - chemicals, plastics, pollution, RF) I doubt the human race will ever get to find out.
Also, the better educated that women are, the less likely they are to have large families, and given that the women are now expected to do a 40+ hour week at work then when and how are they supposed to find the time and energy to raise a large family...Parenting is a dying art as it is...and is already being careerised and franchised out to private profiteers...where children are treated no better than calves being bred for meat...there will be a price to be paiid for this..
Most peole today are over fed and under nourished.
The land needed to sustain one person was recently worked out and it went as follows.....
4 acres per meat eating person (western style meat eating) 1 acre per vegatarian 1 quarter acre per vegan
Back in medieval times a whole family could sustain itself with a mere 4 acres of arable land (fuel needs not included in that)..and families were a lot bigger than they are today..
Most people today don't realise their 100% reliance on supermarkets is a very tenuous situation to be in. I can remember a time when familes in Ireland could, and did, live off the land with very little need for grocery shopping, it's not as difficult at some people seem to think..it just means a little work and you have food security for months to come , if not the whole year.....not to mention fresh, organic, tastier and much more abundant....
Rising population isn't the problem ...greed and laziness of us westerners is the the problem.
