Doomsday for the whole earth is unlikely. However there could be some major catastrophes. Some man made some natural.
Of course if everybody with nukes fired them off at the same time then the whole world would suffer but that scenario is unlikely. What's more likely is a coronal mass ejection that if large enough and impacts in a large populated area would take out the whole electric grid in that area. As an example If it hit North America the electric would be out for years and 10 of millions if not hundreds of millions of people would die as a result.
The same thing could happen if one or more air burst nukes were detonated at the right height and place could do the same thing.

Doomsday has just been put off for a little because today an airline employee stool an empty plane from Seattle's airport. Saving the world a lot of bother two F-15s Scrambled to intercept the stolen Q400 Airliner, and probably successfully intercepted the aircraft south of Seattle and or it may have crashed rather than been shot down.
The 29-year-old airline mechanic stole the Horizon Air Q400 from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. It was then videoed doing loops in an area near America’s largest nuclear submarine base, America’s largest aircraft carrier berths and America’s largest Boeing logistics facility and Donald Duck didn’t even bother to tweeter sanctions on its pilot, they didn’t bother shooting the plane down…seems quite remarkable…
Witnesses reported seeing the plane being chased by military aircraft before it crashed near Ketron Island. There were no passengers aboard. The two military F-15s had pursued the plane but were not involved in the crash, KIRO7 a news station in Seattle reported.
Really remarkable and so doomsday for all the good people living near Puget Sound has been put of and are no doubt engrossed in the explanations that are bound to follow, including no doubt Donald Ducks
