On the first point, its true that man are responsible for the majority of domestic violence, but the British police released statistics last year that said that 40% of their domestic Violence calls were from men being attacked by their women.
40% is still a minority but its a very significant one. And thats not going into the whole thing that its really, really hard for men to admit to being attacked by the "weaker" gender, so that number could be skewed too. And the other thing is that the calls are often not taken seriously either.
The phrase “man up” and the related idea that it’s somehow less bad for a man to be vandalised in some way. The greater threshold of pain and suffering before sympathy or support kicks in from third parties and the general tendency of third parties to side against you.

True. For me personally the worst is having to be the pursuer rather than the pursued when it comes to the whole man/woman thing.

So, ya there is grey in this area,
Yes, T, you have a point, but I'm guessing that more broken female bones turn up at A&E than male ones.

I don't hate to be a man at all. After all, each man has a female side. If I hated to be a man, then I would have been a transgender.
But if I had to be born again and I could choose, I think I would choose to be a cat, smart, intelligent, kissable, and no worries about the daily news, politics, money etc.
Is this your confessional H Why don't u just get the operation and become a woman...ur hate of yourself and others men is very clear n I could guess, that your father was absent when u were growing up and mommy told u he was bad...mummy told u all men were bad n u have grown up feeling shame for being born male

My father was a cross dresser who made me play with dolls when I was a child, and my mother (mommy) used to make me wear a little gingham pinafore to do the housework for her when she was away at her feminist meetings. When I got a little older she used to take me along with her, of course. However, I feel sure that none of this has anything to do with my attitude towards men.
Harbal: I do agree with you, jac, but for the purposes of this thread, I would prefer to overlook female aggression.
Fair enough I suppose.
Well, as a man, its obviously not very pleasant reading that list of statistics. It's very hard not to feel judged by it. However, I have to balance that by the fact that (a) I dont hate being a man at all, nor do I feel I need to do so because other members of my gender have done horrid things, and (b) I have not raided my hand to a woman, ever. In fact I have defended woman who were bieng attacked,
The closest I ever came to was when I was out woth my first GF, and our relationship was a bit strained, and I had 3 or 4 beers, and I got REALLY aggressive twoards her. I'm a big guy, so me being agressive is probably a scary sight When I sobered up I was shocked and resolved to never have that much to drink again, especially in the company of a woman. And I never have.
That said the same woman used to make me drink a glass of wine after that as apparently I get really cuddly after just one, so I think she forgave me.

MiguelUknow: How you have another reason besides being white that you can feel guilty for Harbal. Keep it up and you're going to start getting depressed.
1. Sorry I will not punish myself for other men stupidity or violence etc 2. I love being a man have the right deciding, leading myself and my life, independent socially, Intellectually, and emotionally. Why women wish to be men?
