The reformed Scrooge never shows up at our door, even though I have a Tiny Tim and everything
I guess I will be thankful for the small blessings and not worry about feasts, parties, family gatherings and presents.

Where the heck to do shop for food? Was it your last week or someone else's?
Please get back to me I have quite a few last weeks lyiing about and could use a means of disposing of them while not losing all that was put into them.

My belly is making hungry sounds...
@ markmeunier I bought a leg'a lamb with no leg in it, (it had been deboned, you know like the pathological murderers on CSI do on the occasion, with victims and so ...
) at a Turkish shop.
At the Halloween decoration department of a German Supermarket (Supermarket staff here works in October this way: what looks odd and they dont know = cant be edible and if it is October it ends up in the Halloween decorations) I had found some butternuts and yummy pumpkin a while ago... and was thrilled and kept them for last week.
So into the oven went: legless lamb (garlic, tarragon, coriander etc), butternut, spuds, sweet spuds, pumpkin, onion ... and I was sooooooooo much looking ward to it.
Then I ate it ... and it was not yummy! When my language student tenant came home, (currently 29, Aussie and butcher by trade) I let him cast a professional eye and mouth over it and he stated it was OK, but far too fatty, thats why it was yuccy.
So I was sad
that day.
I had been dieting for weeks on salads and so much wanted to enjoy a warm meal for once...

LOL Depends on who you are. If you are the one who has to do all the shopping, pay for all the food, do all the cooking, and then all the dishes, maybe not so much.
But I did know a guy years ago, that loved his Jack Daniels, and if it made him cranky, we just fed him and he would fall asleep. So that definitely made him more good natured about then, and so we were too not having to listen to him any more LOL
