I don’t think it would be very lady like…if a woman talked with her mouth full and she should swallow before she speaks…what do you lot think Vote now and discuss
First of all, it really depends on the persons culture, in Asia it is not seen as impolite, indeed they more often than not keep their mouth open while eating. So it's somewhat narrow minded to suggest any woman, perhaps it would have been more polite to title your thread " Is it impolite for anyone in the UK to speak with their mouth full of food." See easy when you try, you're welcome
Friskyone: I voted yes, that it would be impolite and gross too. But it goes for anyone who does that.
yes men, who do it have no manners either... a woman breaking wind would be gross to me...can't imagine the horror of having a meal out and a woman breaking wind...a massive turn off for sure

Even kids who speak with a mouthful is impolite and gross.
I can't imagine being the one who passed gas, which I never would, I'd have to excuse myself, and the same goes if my date did it either.
Either way, it would create a very uncomfortable moment!

picture the moment....a romantic meal for two...with candles, music and the best food on the planet...but the mood soon changes, when someone blows wind and no air fresheners are near by....it sure is a quick way to clear a restaurant full of customers, unless they have pegs on their noses

I can picture the moment especially if it were me who did it. Even if he asked me on another date, which he probably wouldn't and I wouldn't blame him, I would decline out of embarrassed

If it was a couple in a long term relationship, then forgiveness and understanding would win the day, but if it was just a causal getting to know dinner date, then it might be the last diner, between the two if you really know and care about someone...breaking wind won't change this fact and the things we eat can create rare problems, so it might not be a sign of things to come

Well I would still try to do it privately, I even prefer having my own restroom due to privacy even when in a relationship. I don't think it's a dealbreaker if he does it in front of me but I definitely don't enjoy it or find it funny.
If we are in a committed, long term relationship it would still be embarrassing.
Maybe enough not to return to that same restaurant. JK
