Farm raised seafood has been proven to be sustainable. It is not unknown for wild seafood to be fished to the point of extinction for all practical purposes. Even stone age cultures practiced aqua-farming.
And we are talking about a broad spectrum from fresh and saltwater fish, shrimp, prawns, oysters, mussels and clams. Plus some other which generally fall within the realm of seafood like frogs, turtles, crayfish, and alligators.

I agree. I think the industry should be held to account for the pollution, and that the retail end of it needs to be far more transparent. That said, progress must be made because China is fishing the oceans empty.
raphael119: stick to sardines and wild salmon for heart health, maybe some shellfish. eat fish low on the food chain and young age to avoid heavy metals. Atlantic Salmon is never wild no matter what the package says!
My produce is bought at a fresh seafood shop so good I can taste the ocean.
I'm not a big fish eater but I do enjoy fresh sardines the way the spanish cook them along with boquerones but not in vinegar. The only bigger fish I enjoy is smoked haddock....I prefer to eat chicken or meat/liver etc............
