Welcome to the world of the internet. Tell me what site these days doesn't have people hell bent on causing problems for others.: sigh:

I've been bashed ,thrashed , and trashed from online bullies ,but I'm still here to tell a tale and spin a few yarns to hopefully put a smile on someone's face.

We all have choices .Mine is to stay true to myself, accept that not all people are genuine , still enjoy contact with complete strangers, some of whom make my day .

Larry made a point and only because of that I am responding.

I have refrained from posting because of the degrading comments made about women for many months. It wasn't just one person, it is several men following a particular man's lead. Why should I put myself in an environment where I'm not respected.

I often read people say that if you don't like a thread then move on to another one. I did that for awhile but the degrading threads became abundant and aside from a word game or a joke thread there wasn't a thread to be seen that would bring men and women together in a conversation or a debate. So rather than be frustrated by some men taking over the site I chose to stay away.

There are women who say they are strong and they don't let the misogynistic threads bother them. That is fine for them. I don't want to be strong to stand up to a men who disrespect me. It's not important in my world. That's why I chose to stay away from the forums. And look, it's doing just fine except there are very few women to hang curtains (metaphor).

When I log onto CS it is to enjoy the interaction of men and women who want to laugh at a joke or sometimes laugh at each other in a respectful way. I also log on to discuss something important such as OLTs thread about washing our hands. I gave up being a recluse for a moment to post in that thread because I felt I had something to contribute. Those are the kind of threads I'm used to after almost 14 years on CS.

If CS is to become a duck soup site I will stay away. CS will certainly survive without me and I will do just fine without CS. However, if men feel they want women back then they need to show it. Not with candy or flowers. Just try to be kind and respectful to the ladies that want to be kind to you.

I think it's time for a complete shake up of this site

Obviously many don't participate on the forums because of thread content already mentioned, but it has also become incredibly boring, with the average age of posters being 50s to 70s who quite often bang on about topics that are probably mind-numbing for many.

This is not going to entice new members who might bring a fresh approach.

And if you check out the blogs it's even worse, overrun by mostly aged American males who only want to post Trump blogs.

I've watched many come and go on this site for whatever reason and nothing will change as people are free to come and go as they please.

Some posters are just attention seeking so we have the choice whether to participate or ignore. I am 80 ,love the banter and the laughs and the ability to have my say on what I personally believe in whether accepted or not by other posters .I've grown a thick skin over the years

We are unlikely to ever meet any of these people so have no idea what is happening in their own lives and accept people on what they endeavour to put in words on the Forums etc. I guess this happens on many other sites too.

I don't login everyday because I have a life outside of CS. I will usually view the current threads first to see if there is anything I like.

But I also believe that the trolls who have many profiles but are the same person(s), and believe me they are so transparent. They post the same crap, different day. Always trashing women gets old. I don't even read those threads and I won't give them the satisfaction of my opinions because they are only instigators and get off on the negativity.

I love to interact with mature adults who can discuss topics that are non-combative.

Whenever a troll posts on my threads and disrespect other's, I ask them to stay off my thread and I will stay off theirs. They should respect my wishes.

If these narcissistic masogonist's aren't careful they will have CS all to himself/herself to themselve(s) and will have only himself/herself to argue and thrash. Then what kind of fun would that be?

I have NEVER been one to report ANYONE even if I thought they should be.

FAIR WARNING ...to those TROLLS who post on any of my threads, anything that is disrespectful, hateful inappropriate or that break forum rules, I plan on being "report happy". If you can join the thread and post as a mature adult, then you are welcome.

All other's are welcome to debate in a mature manner, post their opinions, laugh, joke and speak their minds. We can all agree to disagree.

Yup, the blogs are not the same anymore. Not that I was a regular there, but I do read the few non-political one's.
