People can not destroy this planet but we can destroy the habitat that supports our life.
Destroy: put an end to the existence of (something) by damaging or attacking it.

Isn't that the same thing .confused

If we are destroying the habitat, then we are basically destroying the planet, and our support system as you put it.

I am a great believer in Gaia, or the earth as a self regulating sustem, perhaps we have become the equivelent of cancer to earth and it is self regulating.

Perhaps the rape of the earth to satiate man's greed will stop but i doubt it, and Gaia may well remove
its cancer.

planting 7 trees for every tree that is cut down won't help for it will take too many years before the new planted trees are fully grown.
Problem is that there are to many people. And all these people want food and clothes, so we have to destroy nature to feed and dress humanity. We are doomed.
We need to built spaceships so half of humanity can leave the earth. Then mother earth can take a rest till we're getting overpopulated again. But then we have the knowledge.
The radiation by the 4G and 5G network sin't helping us as well, we're slowly destroying all life on earth.

Technology is not as far as it needs to be. We are still getting raw sources, when (future) tech could have matter made from energy. Solves food and cloths problems. Star trek idea - replicators.

A fully grown Tree is about finished with sequestering Carbon. The older they get,the slower they grow, the less Carbon they sequester.

Standards of living forget how to breed, I believe the population checks itself. We just create a bit of a monster when we gave 300 years of technology to fast-breeders. That created a huge spike in population and I’m thinking Mother Nature is not too happy.

Wrong..old growth forest grabs more carbon. All one has to do is look to the dinosaurs. A design that reached it's end. With huge monsters eating everything in sight, no mammals had a chance. So Mother Nature took the bullet and destroyed most of them. Can you imagine feeding a bronto?wow
Nature has a knack of eliminating any species that gets out of hand. And humans are an invasive species. She keeps trying and will continue. Now she has hit on infertility as the answer. Unfortunately poor countries are still breeding like mad. So I guess disease will be her answer.
We are just a bunch of ants. Nature steps on our hive all the time. We matter only to ourselves, not to nature.
