People aren’t operating very well right now. Yesterday in a Goodwill store a woman was walking “against” the floor arrow pattern, and became very passive-aggressive when she couldn’t get past/around me quickly. I tried to be polite, but I did direct her attention to the very clearly marked floor directions. I said “ Sometimes I get a little confused, but the arrow is opposite to the way you’re going”. She smiled and said “No it’s not.” I asked her if she couldn’t see that she was the one going the wrong way. “No, you’re wrong”, she said. I admit I was probably noticeably frustrated with her. It was clear she was enjoying screwing around with me. She thought she was quite clever. You would have had to have been there...I think many people are just going nuts a little...

I used to love wandering around the "Goodwill" stores. I never bought much because I don't live in America but it was like an "Aladdin's Cave" to me. Not the clothes section but looking at all the pottery and glassware etc.. We would spend hours just looking. A great day out. I did however buy a brass ornament, a brass "Liberty Bell" that was only small so it fit in my suitcase and wasn't that heavy. It takes pride on one of my shelves in my apartment and the bell works toogrin

glad you like their stores—I do, too. And, their merchandise is clean, organized, and usually of better quality than other resale outlets. There is some negative rhetoric regarding high-paid administration vs low paid floor employees.(Gee, where DOESN’T that happen, right?) I was able to furnish my place for really cheap, and when I was strapped, so I have a good view of them. Jmohandshake

Okay, I agree. What was the question btw?
I see the root cause of your line but what was the original question that precipitated the redirection of the conversation? I always work on straight question, straight answer.

As for business, in a very short space of time, if it was me, I'd be thinking what opportunities lay ahead. Shop rent should reduce, people will start coming outside to shop again and the cafe's will fill to what it was before. It may be like what happened after WW2 and starting in nine months time the Human will experience a small population explosion or maybe this will be the end of all intimate contact among passing strangers? im a little surprised you didn’t get the “tie-in”. The original question was about not getting a straight answer. Instead of giving me a straight answer, this canine-challenged (nice way to clean that up, huh?) woman was deliberately and annoyingly passive-aggressive, obviously baiting me, and probably anyone else. Get it now? I give myself 5 platinum stars and an honorary PHD for not letting it get to the point she was driving for. Karma will trash her a**; I won’t have to do a thing...wine
