Sir Francis Bacon a 16th century English philosopher once wrote that "nothing is terrible except fear itself".
In his first inaugural address to the nation, US President Franklin D. Roosevelt picked up on this theme and called people to courage and action when he restated Bacon's line and famously championed "we have nothing to fear but fear itself.".
Do not be afraid. Oh, yeah? He is what we need to be afraid of!! Just another of his plagiarized pearls of wisdom. Even when copying others , he can't get it right.

Tell me about it. Pedaphelia will probably increase if he’s elected

Maybe a touch of plagiarism.
He's my ancestor... there are a lot of famous Bacon's in history.
Lord Verdy as my ancestors affectionally use to call him was liberal in thinking, however scientifically, religiously, and personally was more conservative in nature... according to writings in his unfinished fable The New Atlantis. He also was a great dancer and loved to Boogie.

There was also some talk that he might be "gay" maybe that's where the Boogie came in as they did enjoy the pastime of dancing. ,though I rather think in Elizabethan times it would hardly be "Strictly come Dancing"
Indeed he was G.B There was even talk that he wrote many of the Shakespeare plays. He was ahead of his field in many ways . It was also known that "he was
Yes, he was free from malice, no revenger of injuries, and no defamer of any man, like me, too bad some of your friends don't have these same qualities.

You don't know my friends as they are not on C.S. This is just a respite when drinking coffee etc it's not my life. Why you always have to twist things is beyond me. Whatever happened to polite conversation .

Rik152: No, that's a quote came from Franklin D Roosevelt at the beginning of WW2.......Biden, is not smart enough to think of something like that.....
True and true, Rik. That is also part of Johnny Carsons dialog about then senator Biden plagrising others peoples’ statements in my original posts.

Being afraid to die is useless, because sooner or later you are going to die. Being afraid for some things is usefull, for then you take more care about yourself and your behaviour. If you walk in a street where a lot of black people are you won't say the N. word, I think, or you must want to be killed. Are you amongst white people, it's something different.
