You might want to check a lot of temperature maps before you move to Florida or South Carolina. I moved to North Carolina from New Jersey. The summer in NC is awful. Constant humidity. It rains everyday. And you need to have an exterminator on contract to kill the water bugs that get into your house. They aren't typical roaches that come from dirty houses. I miss the snow and would do anything to move back to New Jersey but my age won't allow that to happen.

Cold weather in North Carolina is 55 degrees. In New Jersey that's a spring day.

One other thing.....Taxes are cheaper in the south BUT they consider your car to be an asset of high value regardless of how old it is and tax it as if it was a house and property.

Nope!! Not built for winter at all ... I disappear in bed under the pile of duvets and blankets and under the multilayers of clothing in the day rolling on the floor laughing

And in the Summer while everyone is sweating buckets, I'm as cool as a cucumber cool

Heat in Southern Spain is usually not clammy though ... or at least not up the mountain where I live grin

I keep my home’s thermostat at 75ish during the winter. I can’t stand using more than a sheet over me at night in bed. laugh

Maybe I’m somewhat conditioned to colder weather. My lips never cracked yet because of cold weather, not even in higher elevations like in the Colorado mountains.

Well, that's just a little inconvenience... As long as I am VERY, VERY, VERY well covered, I will do fine... I remember going to the "Espejo" (Mirror) peak in my country, that is over 4.700 meters high... My sister almost fainted and had to be given oxygen, while I was jumping around and throwing snow balls at my cousins... It was kind of difficult to breathe, but nothing awful... laugh laugh laugh

My first time at that kind of elevation I made the mistake of having a few mixed drinks there then after time on the slopes. Talk about a headache. Wow I’ve never ever had one that bad since. No more drinking like that for me. laugh

I loved the summer in NJ when I was there for 9 weeks but I also love the winters there too.
I've been living in England since September and thought that I wouldn't be able to cope with the much colder weather than Spain. To be honest, I got fed up with the hot humid weather in Spain. It's ok for a couple of months but I gets tiring then. No air and trying to keep out of the sun. I've acclimatised very well since being back in the UK. Loved the snow yesterday grin
