What do you think?

Why do you ask at this time when a stone crazy prosecutor is trying to make a case president that no one has the right to defend themselves when someone else points a gun at them? I don’t even carry concealed anymore but imwould use any means possible to defend myself. wave

Not entirely sure what an AR-15 is but I suspect I would have no use for one in a civilised country like the UK.....even in the unlikely event of finding myself at a riot....uh oh

I assume you are referring to the Kyle Rittenhouse case that is currently at trial. I also assume you watched the trial yesterday, as I did, and saw the judge almost call a mistrial when the prosecutor was pressing Kyle Rittenhouse to answer the question of why did he bring an AR15 where protestors were rioting. It appears to me that the judge is the one who is stone crazy when he admonished the prosecutor to protect Rittenhouse.

Rittenhouse knew what he was doing when he took the AR15 to the riot. He said in a Tik Tok page "I'm gonna be famous". Rittenhouse was 17 years old when he killed two people and injured another.

When he didn't know how to answer a question he pulled a crying jag....without one single tear..... to get sympathy from the jury.

Many videos were shown yesterday depicting how Rittenhouse looked for someone to kill. If he gets away with this you will see his name again when he kills someone else with that AR15. He said he wanted it "because it looked cool".

Why are you being shitty with me? Look at the picture. It says it is an AR15.
No I shouldn't know what kind of gun it is cause I'm not a fanatic who thinks I need half a dozen guns to protect myself. I don't know one gun from another!!!!!! The picture says it is an AR15. I'm not about to challenge that.

There is no reason to own an assault weapon...

As for the trial....I’ve only watched smidges of it...the protection has been admonished by the judge...for not following a simple known protocol of justice...

I was wondering, how this would get into the forums on one way or another...

Then you weren't paying attention. The murdering punk could not squeeze out a single tear as he pretended to sob.

The judge is coming under fire for his bias and incompetence. His phone rang during court with the MAGA theme. Yep during legal proceedings, the Trumpist hymn played.

That kid killed needlessly because he was looking for trouble. I hope justice is served.

thumbs up

He was looking for more than trouble. He wanted notoriety as he said in Tik Tok videos. If the jury emphasizes with the kid and believes that the judge knows what he is doing the kid will probably get a few days in detention center and a slap on the wrist which will set an example for the next kid that thinks guns are cool.

And at the same time the trial for Armaud Arbury is also happening where three men ran down a black jogger and killed the guy.devil

No, I wouldn't take an AR-15 t a riot, but I don't live somewhere where that's a likely scenario and I'm not a teenage boy.

Perhaps the Rittenhouse case would be better viewed as a tragedy, rather than a point of hostility amongst ourselves.

There's a wretched psychology in a child thnking they're a man and cool for attending a race riot with such a weapon. He's likely ruined his own life, might only get out of prison in a pine box, will never lead a fulfilling, normal life, or have any privacy, safety, a partner, family, etc..

Seventeen year olds' brains are neurlogically immature, they have limited knowledge and experience. They are vulnerable to foul and stupid influences.

Society created this child who has devastated countless other people's lives. I'm not saying he shouldn't receive a sentence, but true justice would be to change society.

just a rhetorical question
how long has your country been occupied by the Ottoman empire ?
How about by the Austro-Hungary
perhaps by German Nacies?

How many of your children were taken by the occupational army only to be turned in to their armed forces and one day kill their people?

I agree with Jac. That being said, you also need to take into account the environment Rittenhouse lives in.

I understand that people will respond to this thread BUT in my opinion you need to have watched the trial from Day 1 to understand how this all started.

@Conrad......Yes Rittenhouse was defending himself from the man who was running behind him. That man was trying to take the gun away from Rittenhouse. The kid got scared, turned around and shot the man FOUR times with this gun and continued to kill another man and injure one more. If Rittenhouse didn't want to be perceived as a hero and take an assault rifle to the riot this trial never would have happened.

The stranger danger thing is a bit of a myth.

Most violence happens in the home, the perpetrators known to the victims.

The meda disproportionately reports the stranger danger stuff due to the public nature of those crimes and public interest.

That's true of the US, not just the UK, according to Gavin de Becker, author of The Gift of Fear. Thinking that you have to have a weapon is not the best survival strategy; overall it tends to be the opposite.

No but I didn't grow up under lockdown and I expect having no real childhood to damage youth. No rhythm, no routine, no coming of age as such.
