I totally understand traditional roles mind set. I grew up in it. No longer wanting to have ones life parameters defined by that mindset and not understanding it, are 2 different things.
I would suggest the ones set in their ways would be the traditional ones whereas I'm more of a progressive mind set ...

There's a good chance that the one who agrees with my politics has just found the fastest way to get me to stop talking.
