Do people in other countries routinely eat while they driving a motor vehicle? (54)
You're not allowed to drink, eat or use a mobile phone whilst driving in the Uk. Only "hands free" whilst using a mobile phone. It's classed as a "serious offence" here now. In Spain, you're not allowed to wear flip flops or any "backless shoes" or without wearing a "top" whilst driving. You're allowed to carry opened bottles of alcohol in the Uk and Spain but if you get "pulled" by the Guardia or Police, you will be breathalised but it's not illegal. I think that carrying open bottles of alcohol in America is illegal? or is it just in certain States? ..........

Open booze is illegal here.. I don't know how they expect me to drink my driving liquor??

So is that in the whole of America then? I know when I was last in America in 2018, we had a meal in Applebees and I wanted to take the rest of my bottle of wine home. My friend "who doesn't drink" said, "no" we can't take it back in the truck as it's been opened". I'm like "what?" We can get a beer/brandy or any other alcoholic drink in McDonalds in Spain, but that's when I lived there lol but if you got caught without a top on or wearing backless shoes! The Guardia would have your guts for garters

Outsiders/ Foreigners see America as one giant entity. Not 50 states and up to 14 territories. To them, "states" are regions in the EU or UAE. So they can't grasp the concept of our individual states, with individual laws. Hell most globalists can't grasp the word 'individual' 
But thanks for trying to enlighten them. Perhaps one day we can explain to Islanders, that Yanks only mean Americans ... Outside of America

That's not true actually.
It's not illegal to eat while driving. However, if you get distracted while snacking behind the wheel, the police could prosecute you for careless driving if they consider you to not be in proper control of the vehicle, an offence which carries an on-the-spot fine of £100 and three penalty points. That's the difference.

Are you really gonna go there? I very seldom do it since I no longer spend all those long hours at work. In defense of myself. I didn't want to. I had to conserve time. I have also brushed my teeth while driving. Witnessed at a red light by a sheriff next to me. I would of not turned my head that direction if I had known he was there.

That is how it is here also. There is no specific law about food or brushing your teeth. Yet if you are in or cause an accident you can be brought up on other charges form doing those two very things. It's not illegal to eat while driving.
