Sea swimming is the new craze here, I have recently taken up swimming but I'm my local leisure centre, I'm not that brave yet. Cold showers are also meant to be very good for your health both in mind and body. Have just about managed 5 seconds of it so far

When I say sea swimming I mean first thing in the morning...unfortunately on our Isle it's always freezing cold

That's the maximum!! At the moment I'm on 15 because I stopped doing them before Christmas and started again sometime in January ...
Yes yoga is good for the body and for the mind. Creates a good balance within. We always do a small meditation at the end...

I've never done any kind of exercise that has given me so much for seemingly so little effort as yoga. Plus as you say, it's so good for the mind. In fact the word yoga means to connect, it's the mind and body in total harmony, that's why many other forms of concentration combined with movement are considered to be yoga, especially in the east.

I find that if I'm able to focus on just my breathing and the poses it's like a long meditation and even more beneficial

Try T'ai Chi for an hour or two.......

Tai Chi is really good, but it takes a while before you learn the moves to be able to flow from one to the other, and that's what it's really all about.
About 4 months ago I bought a pristine folding recumbent stationary bike at a tag sale for 10 bucks! I used to sit and watch YouTube videos and gain weight. Now I pedal away in front of the computer and lose weight while watching YouTube videos. I can also do this while on the phone. Sometimes I do upper body exercises while pedaling and listening to over 2 hour organ concerts on YouTube. I have started weight training a few weeks ago and I have been swimming a lot too.

walk 3 miles or more 5 days and go to exercise class now that they have opened up again. Used to go to gym 3 times a week but two year off and its a no go.
Looking fir tia chi class to open, a mixture of things good. I am retired so can do what i want but when someone is working i suppose it is hard to fit anything in.
