Because the continuity of threads is more open for negativity and bickering. Polls and blogs are often scanned quickly, and the participants are commenting to a specific, germane core. That’s what I “ think”— no guarantee this is it!
It was a joke…if it escaped you, it escaped you. (a little whimsy regarding ‘rules’). I understand if you’re not amused. But then, it wasn’t for you, so what the heck— right?

Thanks for clearing that up...I was really hoping that you were joking...
Grandsiozzie: Ain't that a bit like writing the city counsel asking why we have 33 speed bumps when the next town only has 27..
I think that's totally different. That's up to each town ain't it? As this is a "Site" run by "whoever" They make the rules so it's up to them. As I stated, if I wanted to know the reason "why", I would ask the Mods, simple as.....
A blog is an online journal of someone's daily activity. It's not supposed to be a discussion by other bloggers about that person's experience of what they are doing. Therefore, there isn't a need for a lot of rules in the Blogs if everyone knows what a blog is.
The difference is that the forums opens the opportunity for discussion and debates on a subject between anybody who wants to enter the discussion which leads to various opinions. When you have a lot of people writing their opinion on what someone else wrote you need rules to keep everybody in their lane to prevent a thread from going ballistic thus causing people to go to jail or be banned from the site.

sounds like you have better communications with the cs mods than i do. They have never replied to any enquiries i have made.

Unless a blog op locks their blog preventing discussion from other bloggers, blogs and polls are also what you say is the difference.

No! not at all Galrads. I've been banned from here once. I asked why and they told me why and I respected that and took that into mind when posting in the threads from then on. This is "their site" whether it be Blogs or Forums. They have the right to do whatever don't they? Don't you think that these Mods get sick and tired of all the complaints they receive along with having to monitor all the Threads and Blogs?. This is a "FREE SITE" for goodness sake. Think yourself lucky for this Free Site
Mercedes_00: The only ones I see breaking the rules are those discussing politics & Covid
Why aren't they in time out?
Oh yeah! I thought those discussions were banned yonks ago Maybe things get overlooked? A bit like FB. My eldest son had a photo of himself and his 4yr old son as his profile photo. Ok, they hadn't got T shirts on, just a nice photo of him and his son. They took it down but yet there was another photo of a baby in a bath tub from someone and that was left up. Maybe they thought that my 4yr old grandson was a "girl" because he has shoulder length hair

Why are there more cs rules for posts made in threads than for posts made in polls and blogs?(Vote Below)
