It depends on the individual but Bradley Manning was more of a whistleblower. I don't think to be a patriot you have to be a boring grey f*ck like Ben Shapiro whose patriotism applies solely to Israel anyway.

And it would also depend on the country. I think in India they worship hermaphrodites and in Britain there's always been a thing about men wearing women's clothes. Which was for entertaining for some reason although I admittedly never got the joke. It's a difficult one to figure out really when your country is a modern country with western values. All this trans came from America and could not be otherwise, it's the latest wave of freedom of expression but when western values stand against everything you believe in, can you be a patriot in a western country?

But if patriotism is the same family, tribe, nation loyalty it is in every land, and there's nothing exceptional about America, then no a drag queen couldn't be patriotic. You'd have to define country as having western values and say that the best thing about it is the individuality.
