Probably not but just because it doesn't appeal to me. The modern world would never have got started without the gun. The British redcoats beat the zulus because they were hard? No. Rifle beats spear. All the laws that we have are ultimately enforced by the violence of the state, the police are equipped to take down criminals in an unfair fight. I don't think they'd be able to keep order in a fair fight.
It is simplistic to believe that without guns, there'd be no wars. Before there were guns, there were wars - hand made spears, machetes, clubs, rocks, etc - was used as weapons. So, sadly, getting rid of the guns would only lessen the rate and expanse of the killing.
In a fair fight power would go to the roughest members of society with the least to lose. The polite classes taken down in a second unless there is some way to win a fight it wouldn't naturally win. And that way is weapons and armour, battle tactics and coordinating of your forces so that a inherently weaker group remains on top.

What does that poll have to do with working for a firearm manufacturer?
I don't see how the two are related. Just about anything can be used as weapon. You would be hard pressed to find a good example of an isolated human civilization that did not engage in war or mayhem from time to time, even upon itself.
And it only one takes one side to initiate a war, the opposition then have a choice to surrender or fight. I agree in theory that is no one was willing to fight, their would be no war. But governments have been rather successful historically in forcing their unwilling population to fight. A military draft is not a recent addition to human innovation.

The op is just stirring it up. I sort of used to work for myself in the industry reloading every caliber i owned (except rimfire rounds) for myself and friends.
"Guns" is just a metaphor for all kinds of weapons and war equipment. The actual murderers are not the clients, but rather the executors, servants and soldiers. If nobody took an active part in the war, there would be no wars. Where there is no attacker, there is no defender. Just theoretically !

I still reload ammunition from time to time. In California, they do a background check on each ammunition purchase. I rather doubt that has any impact at all on crime.

I sold my P226 X5 (competition single action 9mm) through a dealer to someone living in California. I could not include it’s original magazines though.

If no one takes part in the war, then there is none.
