if you ask me, categorizing music is a bit like categorizing people...all music is, is a mood or feeling interpreted through song....if your not in that same particular mood when listening to certain music, you wont get it....JMO

I chose "classic rock", but in it I'm including a lot of things that are now classics...AC/DC, Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac, Heart, Jethro Tull, Judas Priest, B52's...those are all "classics" now, too.
I have very eclectic tastes, so I listen to a very wide variety of music, it all depends on my mood.

always thought jethro tull, heart, fleetwood mac were under the classic banner all along, i do lean towards the late 60's early 70's blues era fleetwood mac. this poll could be an atatchment to the rock guitarist poll of a couple days ago, good place to turn on to artists one may otherwise not be privey to, if one is open and willing for adventure. hello by the way dru

Hi, J! Nice to see you. I love listening to new types of music. Got to hear some great stuff in my "What song are you now?" thread...I listened to most of what I'd never heard before, even the opera. If it's got a good beat and makes you want to move, or is soothing and relaxing, I love it. I just don't like anything that beats my ears while aggravating my nerves, so I have to admit to not being into extreme punk music or rap.

I love the Ramones...but that's danceable music! I love a lot of the old punk stuff...Devo, B52's, Iggy Pop, The Clash, etc...and I like some of the newer punk, like Pink...it's the British punk movement that can hurt my ears. (No offense to my buddy, JPunk.)

Absolutely...grew up dancing to classical! I still love watching ballet, and I can still move to that music as well. My tastes have an amazing span...world/indie, and sounds of nature with musical accompaniment, Native American flute and drum music...as well as hard, throbbing, rock. As I said, very eclectic.
And did you ever check out the Animusic that I posted a thread about once a while back? Great music on that. I don't know what genre it would fall in, but it's awesome music with great animation. Lots of videos from it on You Tube!

Working on this. Could you email me a link? Or, post it here? So far, I've only found a link to MySpace streaming. And I'm not worried about your spelling. We can all make errors when we're tired.

It's easy to learn, J, honest...even I managed to learn how to do a lot of this stuff. So, you're just a newbie, not a dork.
