Were always wondering how many people use the forums, and how many post on a regular basis and how many embers come in and look at the forums and read them but never post!
This might be a way of guessing the active membership of the forums and if were just talking to say 20 people or if many any other people read them but don't ever reply for some reason.
So heres a poll for people to really comment and speculate on and hopefully it will encourage other people to post in the forums!
Hopefully the comments will be constructive, and the posters will heed other peoples input and it can be viewed as a way to improve the forums and encourage others to join in!

thanks, I think this is a great idea, the forums are the life blood of CS, and in my opinion the best part. they have good days and bad. we can always use ideas to make them better.

Da10th: So far I've only had one instance of it, hopefully it was the last.
This is exactly the type of thing we need to expand on, so people will understand why members reduce their input.
If you don't flesh this out people will just assume you got bored and left? So perhaps without naming names people should say things that have put them off from being quite to prolific.
I post on a regular basis. However, I do try to stay away from the argumentative threads. To much RL drama to be in here online! BTW, I LOVE being here amongst my forum friends. It's my home away from home!

Truth be told i think people like the drama and provoking fights/on running feuds. Sometimes these threads are the most interesting as the "quality" if thats the right word of some threads is shall we say......poor!

I agree. They are always never ending until they're locked or deleted.
I post dayly and think everyone should be free to say what they wish , I enjoy a good debate,I just don't understand why folks don't respect others ideas and beliefs, but that is human nature I suppose ,so it is what it is nothing more

Of course people like the drama of controversy in a thread. Those threads are the ones that receive the most attention, posts, and views.
It certainly beats the "What is your favorite motor oil" threads.........
RobbieM: For people who think there is cliques, i would love to know why you think there is a clique or accepted crowd!
Please explain so we can understand
There are open cliques that everyone is free to join. Mainly there are friends who have been here a while and would gladly let any and all to join in. Just start writing and expressing you opinions and you will be known as a clique memeber soon enough--for better or worst.
RobbieM: Maybe people feel constrained and are worried about being banned or suspended?
There's only one way to find out....there i've asked the question....lets see if anyone even answers!
I think that is one of numerous reasons why people don't "debate" more, and I the use the term debate very loosely. I don't understand the ground rules of why some are banned for minor infractions yet some get away with "murder"?

foreveryoung1: No, you will lose even more people than are already leaving the forums. What has been going on here the last few days is disgusting
Forever, there is only one way to deal with this, and that's let them say what they want in the forums or take it private and deal with any grievances in private!
Some people do like airing their dirty laundry in public, likewise relationship break ups in the forums, and i have been way to open about my situation on the forums and had as a result some people taking an unhealthy interest in my life!

Membership is available to all!!! Come on Down.
I express my opinions openly and very freely and I certainly do not belong to a clique, nor do I wish to be. I have made a few friends in the two months since I joined, and enjoy interacting with them, but I certainly do not run with a pack.

See! exactly what I am refering to, I give my opinion, am immediatly told it is incorrect, and 'fighting' on line is the correct way to go about it.

I don't understand the cliques thing seriously! New people can just jump in and have a laugh like people who have been here a while.By default they will soon become regulars!
I wonder if it's more to do with not just debating or agreeing what everyone else has to say.
I have seen one lady on here who will go out of her way not to have an opinion, almost like she is reading a pc handbook that is so bland it makes posting pointless.
Whats wrong with having opinions that's different from other people?

I believe the forums really bring out a persons true colors. You get the opportunity to see how others react. Are they easily angered when opposed? Do they get nasty and give cutting remarks, belittling others? How well do they hold up when the heat gets turned on? Also, opinions and beliefs are revealed. All of these things are very important when seeking a potential partner. Some people like to hang with others who are like themselves. Others like diversity. We get to see all types of personalities shine through in the forums. Some are loving and good and some are down right mean and hateful. You may find a kindred spirit just in reading forum posts. The forums are able to bring out the best in us, or bring out the beast in us. They really help the weeding out process along. People can tell you anything in an email or on the phone, but seeing how their mind reacts in different situations... are they flexible, are they stubborn, do they have a compassionate heart or a heart of stone? The forums reveal so much of what a person is made of. It's a good place to get to know others and a place to make new friends, even if we don't all agree all of the time.
This was an excellent idea for a forum topic Robbie! Thank YOU! HL
I usually post on a daily basis. On occasion the threads get a little crazy and I just stay away for a day or two. Have several friends that I enjoy and miss if I don't see their threads on a regular basis(JMO)
John said in another thread once something along the line it would be a boring world if we were all the same,I agree we just need to be able to debate ,not fight and respect others views, not really complitcated IMO

Some forum posters will "take advantage" of any personal information one may divulge and use it for further exposure in the future. It seems as though some keep files and records of certain people in the forums.
I know I am filed under "S" for Smartass in some of their computers...

Hang on you think i am arguing with you or lecturing you?
I was just voicing a opinion!
We are allowed opinions right?
That's the point to this thread to have opinions and get these things across to other people on the forums without people being perceived as bullies, starting arguments or ways to make the site more inclusive.
