Which one do you prefer? I like both. One is more appropriate in a situation than the other although the synthesizer can't recreate certain instruments accurately.

Until very recently I didn´t have much experience listening to music made using synthesizers or computer programs. Now one of my son`s hobbies is exploring these possibilities, and I find this kind of music interesting actually. I have recently been introduced to the concept of ambient.Loooots of possibilities there. It`s so good to see that music, as other forms of art, evolves.

Dancing to electronic music in a club may be alright at times, when one is in the mood. But who could really listen (for relaxation) to anything that doesn't require talent to make nor could be reproduced live?
Stand up, turn up your speakers and try to dance to these:
In the room with me right now are my 6 guitars, my bass, my piano, my 3 amps, my 10 harmonicas and all my PA and recording equipment. I've played real instruments all my life.
But on the computer I have Finalé software for writing midi playable sheet music.
There's no comparison for quality. Real instruments win hands down.
But a real music file takes up a lot of space in a computer file whereas a midi file is really small in comparison. That's really the only advantage of midi music, it takes less space.
The actual instruments of course. I've been playing guitar for over 20 yrs. Here's an add on question. Do you like the digital amp modeling devices or not? I'm an tube amp guy forever. Chris
